Maybe he thinks ahead and knows those things (cyclone, sieged tanks drop, battlecruisers warp) will never make the cut

Thanks for linking that 2v2 match.
The gameplay looked fun actually. Speedroach, speedling->cyclone? Cyclone+herc might work well vs roach and speedling. So it seems it might be: cyclone+herc vs speedling+roach - Might be micro involved tbh. Seems like quite a fun fight.
The zerg player(s) didnt tech lair until very late. And no speed ling. Ofcourse cyclone owned them. The zerg(s) was awful.
I dig the 12worker start alot. Finally the gameplay can start alot sooner.
Looked like cyclone works a bit like goliath from broodwar actually. I kinda like that mech finally has a unit which works like goliath. The thor has always been quite dull.
Seems that the approach they have is sort of like this: The early units you make are very relevant to your plan. The early units you make are very relevant with how you defend, attack. The combo feels more important overall now. More synergy with each other and works good together.
I actually felt positive while watching that 2v2 video. Hope they really nail it wiht lotv. The economy feels abit unspiring overall tho, didnt looked like it changed much.

I really liked that ravager could be made early. Wow. Tbh, medivacs lifting siegetanks can maybe work well if the speedboost is gone. Then hydras might actually be good to stop medivac+tank.
Hope they lookat way more stuff in the beta ofcourse. But hopefully mutas dont have to be the "must build unit" anymore.

My fear with the tanks change is that terran can use terrain in their favour before mutas are out in a rather disgusting ways.

Yeah in combination with the speed it looked a tad too strong.

I really don't like the Cyclones and the Toss thing skins though. (And does not looks that fun to play with or watch on the long run...)
Economy wise it can be interesting, but we'll need to see how it goes with lots of pro-plays matches. Can lead to some action from the very first base, (which can only be better than current 3 bases standard play). And eventually lead to agressive expanding and action packed game. We'll see. Hope they'll be lots of High level gamers on LoTV Beta.

Nerfed warp :/
Am speechless At a first glance it looks like Toss got the shorter end of the stick, though nothing is set in stone. As hard as it may be we have to trust in Blizzard to make the right calls after the actual testing. Just all stop with the whine already. This is the avilosation of the SC community. Pitiful. Why shouldn't I whine? Almost everything that has been announced goes counter to the things that I actually like about the game. If the game is released as described then I already know that I will not like it =/ EDIT: It's almost like a completely different game. WoL and HotS are ultimately very similar to one another, whereas LotV is going to have massive changes. I've spent a lot of time playing WoL and HotS and I really like them. I do not like what I am seeing about LotV. Literally going to lose something that I love doing and watching if these changes go through. It's pretty sad. So yes, whining. And lots of it -_- No one is going to take your 1a Protoss deathball away; you can still play HOTS.

You can be sure that the Kespa guys will be among the first to get their hands on those new toys

Yeah. To be honest I think that Medivacs lifting Siege Tanks is ok as long as: 1) Tanks dropped from Medivacs are unsieged or 2) Medivac doesn't have speed boost
Ravagers are really cool in my opinion and adds micro potential on the both sides.
And I agree that gameplay looked fun even though they are just testing stuff, but there are a lot more back and forth micro engagements happening early in the game from both sides. Hercs should be nerfed a bit but they are fun.

I hope so, graphically speaking it was pretty underwhelming !

why didn't they make speedlings to surround the cyclone

quit whining on pre alpha builds imbalances you spoiled high brandwith era kids
i very much like the idea of not having to buy all three things and that the latest is standalone eventho its kind of a ripoff and a slap into the face for pretty much 80% of the player base though i have no idea what hots sales looked like

Units sounds good and will be tested out and optimized anyway, that's what the beta is for, remember the initial units in HotS beta?
I really don't understand the initial scv change though (unless building times are also changed) :
1 - it reduces the variety of openings, and basically kills all the most agressive ones.
A zerg for instance can have 10 (or less) pool 15 (+/- 1) pool or 15 (+/- 1) hatch, it gives 3 kinds of opening with very different timings. With 12 drones at the begining this variety doesn't exist anymore : it's simply removing the first minute and a half of the current game. A rax for example will pop out at what? 1'20? and a CC first at like 2'30 maybe?
RIP 9 pools, 11/11 rax and inbase proxy gate. I don't think it's good news.
2 - After 4 years of sc2 we're still struggling to have a balanced map pool. how long will take to have balanced maps again after such changing to 6 bases paly as standard?
3 - I could have understood such a change in HotS, but this is LotV, the last expansion, there will be no coming back. Last expansion should be used to polish stuff up, not revolution everything again.
I really hope I will be prooven wrong but this doesn't smell good to me...

I guess the haters were right and blizzard really isn't dedicating a lot to Starcraft anymore.

Blizzard once was all about SOLID designs.
The ONLY good changes are: seige tanks, BC and Oracle abilities combined. Everything else is PURE CRAP that have no purpose.
Economy "redisign"... ok i can accept that (i also feel that 3v3 base meta is outdated) but all modern builds are a complete waste then. We will need to learn this game from the start. After wasting years on it we will be on the same ground as newbies (btw there will be no newbies, no matter how hard blizzard try). Ok if they dont care about casuals, think about Pros: ppl been practicing their asses and then all of a sudden. BAM! You were playng a wrong game sorry bros.
Ah fck it... no point in complaining. i lost any motivation to play.. fuck you blizzard. FUCK. YOU.
100% agree. probably they just forced new units into the game to say "hey we have new stuff" but the design of these units is absolutely terrible. 2 units just copied from BW (reaver with another name) and terran gets two boring amove units. not fitting in the game and terribly designed. i hope lotv will be a giant disappointment and tournaments etc. will still be played on hots.

I'm sure Blizzard will leave it as is. Obviously they hate Starcraft as a whole and the fans in particular.

No way. If what they're doing is really terrible, they'll scrap it and still make a good game. I trust Blizzard for making a good last iteration of our cherished game. They won't make changes for change's sake if they turn out impossible to balance.
