Thanks for the programs Dakota_Fanning, i used sc2gears pretty much every single day during WoL and HOTS.
But the user interface and general UI experience took a hit from sc2gears to scelight, i have trouble getting used to it. For example, selecting a bunch of replays from a folder in Windows and drag-dropping them to get a list up doesn't work anymore (?) or am I just missing something?
There are a lot of good additions, but in general it feels more difficult to use and complicated (even if i consider myself a windows 'power user') :S
Edit: also right-clicking a game in the replay folder search list to open a popup to for example open the replay's containing folder, copy the replays, etc.. Edit2: after fooling around some more i miss the convenience of sc2gears even more, does one need to intsall external packages or something to do something as simple as rename a replay and right-click things, open a player's profile link on battle.net, etc?

Thanks for your honest and extensive input. Here is my go at responding to that.
If you used Sc2gears every day, then it became habitual and compulsive. Scelight is quite different, and so it would be surprising if it wouldn't be strange at first, but give it some time. Of course not everything from Sc2gears is present in Scelight, but the feature list will extend, and there are also many additions that were never in Sc2gears (e.g. PlayerStats chart and subcharts, SQ, Supply Capped % etc.).
Scelight uses the concept of "Replay Folder" which is basically a folder on your computer. It does not have "static" replay list like in Sc2gears. Instead you can attach filters to Replay Folders which will be applied automatically when you list their content. You can also list their content using custom filters, replacing the attached, saved filters. The image below shows an example of the Replay filters dialog, it is way more powerful than Sc2gear's Replay search:
![[image loading]](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-aY8SsF8GaTw/Ut0tDIopMDI/AAAAAAAA0IQ/d6Gidb02G58/w730-h510-no/replay-filters-editor.png)
Also note that Scelight has a "Skill Level" combo box setting. This adjusts the UI complexity and the amount and depth of the information displayed to the user, and the amount of choices the user has. This can / should be set based on the general computer knowledge and skills of the user, but of course this can be changed any time (even just to peek at what would be available on a different level). There are also a lot of settings (like 200) which can / should be changed / customized to make Scelight work the way you want it and like it. Settings are presented in a nice, hierarchical way and can be instant-searched/filtered.
About right clicking. Generally context menu functionality is moved / transposed into tool bars and icons on the tool bars. Instead of context menus the items that would be in the right-click context menu are placed onto the tool bars, above the tables. Only the available ones are enabled. E.g. many of them only become enabled if you select some replays.
The replay list tool bar contains - among others - what you were looking for: Show selected replay in File browser (Shift+Enter), Rename Selected Replays...
You do not need to install anything to rename replays, the functionality is on the tool bar. Just hover your mouse over the icons to see in the tool tips what they do. Here is a screenshot what the Rename replays dialog looks like:

For player-related tools. Open a replay in the Replay Analyzer, and there is a small "wrench" icon under the names of the players (the player check boxes). Click on it, and this will open a similar context menu you miss from Sc2gears. This contains - among others - the item to open the player's Battle.net profile page.

I've installed the SC2ReplayStatsUploader, and it's set to auto-update.
After restarting scelight, the Launcher page shows an error: "Scelight is up to date, but failed to check/update some external modules!"
The log says: 2015-11-21 15:59:28.931 INFO Checking for updates... 2015-11-21 15:59:29.611 INFO Checking for SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates... 2015-11-21 15:59:31.727 ERROR Failed to check SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates! 2015-11-21 15:59:31.728 INFO Checking for SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates (2)... 2015-11-21 15:59:31.736 ERROR Failed to check SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates! 2015-11-21 15:59:31.736 INFO Checking for SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates (3)... 2015-11-21 15:59:31.740 ERROR Failed to check SC2ReplayStatsUploader updates! Is there something I need to do differently? I've restarted scelight a few times, with no luck.
EDIT: Might be because http://sc2replaystats.com/ is down.
Thanks!

And since you have an external module installed, Scelight also tried to check if there are upates for the external module. Updates for external modules are hosted by 3rd party sites, which in your case was down (not reachable), so Scelight could not check updates for that. This is not a problem for Scelight, you can proceed as usual, only thing is that Scelight can't guarantee in this case that your external module is also up-to-date, obviously.

Sorry about that, I was doing some maintenance on sc2replaystats and the site was going up and down during it.

Anyone know how to move selected replays to a different folder? Seems like a basic functionality but can't seem to figure it out.. I only see e-mail (which is a huge pain if I want to move locally) and delete.

I tried using SCElight for over a year now, and that feeling of just wishing it was SC2Gears is still strong.
|
So I don't think the Ravager & Lurker Builds are showing up on the command chart - I only see the roaches and the hydras. Is this coming soon?
|
@Dakota_Fanning
There has been a thread on reddit, confirming that LotV still uses Blizzard seconds - only the ingame clock changed: Link.
This has to be taken into account when calculating APM and should be the reason for the low APM-values of scelight, that some have been complaing about.

Yes, this might explain it (hopefully).

This is my exact feeling towards scelight. It feels like the precursor to sc2gears, not the other way around.
Lately, all I've been looking for is a system that can parse the players and map out of the replay to rename it. It took me forever to find my replays, forever to deal with the toolbar instead of a context menu, then it renamed them with a date I didn't ask for, then repeating the procedure it renamed them but left the (2) in place. I later played a game with the auto-rename active and it used a different rename format than the one I set to in the rename feature.

I later played a game with the auto-rename active and it used a different rename format than the one I set to in the rename feature. We are not born with the knowledge where the different things are and how they work in Scelight. You have to put in some effort to read about them or learn them. Scelight is not Sc2gears, and so knowing Sc2gears does not mean you know Scelight. If you knew how something was achievable in Sc2gears, that might not work (in the same way) in Scelight.
It took me forever to find my replays. To find your replays, you simply have to point Scelight to the containing folder. You can do this by adding a new Replay Folder. When listing the contents of a Replay Folder, you can filter the content, and / or you can search in the results by typing any text.
forever to deal with the toolbar instead of a context menu If by "dealing" you mean clicking on an icon, I don't see how that could take forever. If you know how to deal with a context menu, there's nothing new in dealing with a tool bar. The difference is that a tool bar contains the options as icons lied out horizontally, and names (text) are not displayed to save space, instead you can see them by hovering with your mouse over them.
then it renamed them with a date I didn't ask for Yes, because you didn't ask for anything when renaming. Scelight can't guess how you want to name/rename your replays. It has a default template which contains the date. If you edit this template and you remove the date symbol from it and you describe what you ask for, Scelight will give you that.
then repeating the procedure it renamed them but left the (2) in place I don't know what template you used, but if you specify a template which is not unique to all replays (e.g. you just specify the map name and nothing else), that certainly can result in the same name for multiple replays. In this case a counter is added automatically to generate unique names, to prevent overwriting or deleting existing replays that have the same name.
I later played a game with the auto-rename active and it used a different rename format than the one I set to in the rename feature. Because you have the option to specify 2 (actually 3) different, distinct name templates, one used to rename new replays in their original folder, one to name auto-backed up replays, and another one used when you manually rename replays. Of course there is nothing stopping you to use the same template at all places. But if you wish different names for different purposes, this gives you the possibility.
