I really feel sorry for Protoss now that tanks got 2.8 attack speed. I do not think that mech can be defeated any more but maybe some Code S player can figure out a solution.

1) know your oracle timings. Have marines ready in the main mineral line when oracles should arrive. If nothing comes in a minute or so it's not oracles. If something does come, defend with the marines and build turret.

2) mass 2/2 lingbling muta play = slow hive, why not get some tanks if your marine splits are the problem, or thors if the mutas are annoying? Eventually you will have so many mines that they can't engage anyways.

3) Tank attack speed buff is the sort of thing that seems very important in this matchup but actually isn't.

Normally bio entails marine-tank play:

a) Marines vs tanks
Marines die in 2 shots so now the tank takes 0.2 seconds less to kill your attacking marines (the first shot is still instant, the second shot is now 0.2 seconds faster). I don't think that matters much to be honest.

b) Tanks vs tanks
right, no difference here

4) It seems to me that even in air transitions 3 things happen:
a) you get air they kill you while you're getting your air up
b) you get air and hold, then you are able to deny their bases because they can't shoot up well enough
c) you get air and they get air, in which case it often comes down to raven control. It's only in this case that mech getting +3 by default really matters, and still by the time the air meet you shouldn't be very much behind in upgrades.

High dmg units are always gimmicky. No real micro involved, only paying attention to them is the micro. Oracles will always be a horrible unit because of how quickly it still decimate your mineral line if your not paying attention, giving more emphasis to a build-order win, hence more luck.

High dmg is the problem of this game.

Spellcaster units are always good additions since it's more complex micro, like the MSC, viper, or revelation for Oracles.

Pretty sure it is, at least in some Unit Tester it was so I don't see why it wouldn't be in ladder but I haven't tried it yet :-)

Oracle buff seems unnecessary to me, the rest seems fine but nothing that will dramatically shift balance one way or the other.

lol i quit playing 2 months ago with the intend to resume when the wcs is finally over and they are releasing a patch. But after reading this joke i'll stay away. Can't belive they managed to make this game even less fun to play as a terran.

Im pretty sure that pro terrans, atleast koreans, will stick to widow mines in TvZ. This wont change anything excecpt that they have to work harder :/

I didnt like how the oracles felt when moving them so I understand a quality of life kind of fix but this is just a straight up buff which I dont understand at all. Really dont.

That new alterzim stronghold will be even more fun vs protoss now.... :o That map truly shows the power of warp gate. So sad that a core production mechanic affecting maps in such a huge way.

An Oracle beat 6 marines head to head.

The fact that terran players were forced to do a shitty reactor build because of this unit and can't one-rax expand anymore was not enough I guess.

Whereas now with OP photon charge (still not nerfed by the way) a protoss can easily Nexus first with no a problem.
Make photon charge shorter will reduce his power against allins and timing attacks (which is really to strong atm in any machup) and still not nerfed against harass (I agree having a defense against harass is necessarry for protosses).

Protoss is the strongest race by far now.

The changes are the expected.

Typical Blizzard attitude: if something is not right, nerf Terran. WM nerf will have a big inpact in TvZ but tank buff will change nothing in any machup. Z changes ok, and P changes totally no needed.

How is 4M more boring than muta ling bling?

Did you know that zergs could have dealt with widows mines if they mixed in roaches to tank the WM shots? Why didn't they do it? Because it would make their comp have much less mobility. This is the same reason why terrans don't want to HAVE to mix in tanks. Not sure why blizzard is forcing a tank/mine mix when they don't force zergs to include roaches in their muta ling bling comp.

That's not true at all

Zerg tried to mix in Roaches, but they are so cost-ineffective vs bio-mine (in supply and cost), they stopped and they only play muta now. Because you can be really cost effective with good muta micro and multitask, whereas you cant with roaches.
