As long as there is no competition in the RTS scene... starcraft2 wont completely die out. And so far only hope's for competition is probably WC4 or that day9+artillery project ( but both of those are at concept stage at best so far ). | ||

There are way less successful games out there getting sequels. Less and less rts coming out is the reason why sc and wc will stay successful while every other publishers focuses on mobas. It's a niche. I think there will always be a healthy but maybe smaller rts scene, and Blizzard are the best when it comes to rts. | ||

But in all seriousness, if we pirate SC2 and run it ourselves, we can actually get some good game changes (as well as redesigning Protoss) and revitalize the damned thing ourselves. Or we can just say fuck it, and remake Brood War with up-to-date graphics. | ||

I mean the community already seems split whether to make the game mechanically harder or not, what importance strategy should play compared to mechanics and so on. There will be successors, I'd bet on that - even if RTS' popularity is declining and more casual friendly games such as Mobas are on the rise. To each his own, I guess. | ||
