However, removing challenger league is intriguing. We'll see where that goes.

Is it David Kim & Co. who plan WCS, though? Not saying it isn't (because I don't know for sure, but somehow I doubt it), but if they don't, then that argument makes zero sense and I've seen lots of similar arguments so that's why I'm ratting it out. Arguments along the line of "Something is good, while something more important is bad, so I wish they would've made the important thing good instead while sacrificing the unimportant thing" when it's obvious that there's absolutely no chance that there could ever be such a trade-off. If it's not the same people doing both jobs, then ditching one job isn't going to improve the quality of the other job. So, unless the game developers also try to run WCS while balancing HotS and developing LotV, then downscaling WCS will have zero impact on gameplay. It's not like Blizzard is a sentient entity that's only able to focus on one thing at a time. It consists of several persons and if two persons are not working in a tight team, then those one person will be able to do his job regardless of how much or little the other person is focusing on his work. A similar example: You wouldn't expect Diablo 3 to have been a better game overall, if they had skipped the orchestral soundtrack in order to focus on gameplay, would you? Because there's absolutely no chance that those musicians would have come in and improved the gameplay instead of playing music. So unless David Kim and crew has to take time out of their game development in order to plan and/or run WCS, then it makes absolutely no sense to say that Blizzard should focus on gameplay instead of WCS, because there's no chance of a trade-off there. (Of course, if it truly is David Kim who plans WCS, then my own post is a waste of space, but I'll take my chances).

As long as there is no competition in the RTS scene... starcraft2 wont completely die out. And so far only hope's for competition is probably WC4 or that day9+artillery project ( but both of those are at concept stage at best so far ). You can watch Brood war ![]() On subject it's really bad for a lot a reason at the moment (because of what we know. Meaning we know nothing) but production value for challenger is quite bad. Caster droping, games without sound or without video (it was quite weard). When it happens in premier league they fix what they can but it was really amateurish. Also ZG did a nice job games where weird. Happy Game 2 anyone ? But keep in mind it's the first year of WCS. THey said they will change thing. They just didn't say what. I have hope. A lot of people are hating on blizzard but they will deliver. Not everyone will be happy but i'm sure i will.

According to DES, the Korean esports media, WCS 2014 will be region-lock. Only the Korean players that are in foreign teams which have team house in non-Korean countries can participate in non-Korean regions. Many western teams have been notified about the reform (translator: as seen by some NA/EU players' comments). An anonymous person said that "Blizzard has negotiated with many teams. Most teams want region-lock, because NA/EU are occupied by Korean." People in Korean esports criticize this decision. They think that it will further shrink the survival space of Korean players, and sponsors will lose interest. But the good news is that the prize pool will increase. WCS KR will return to GSL level prize pool. And season finals and global finals will have higher prize pool than this year. Liquid is unclear. Axiom is screwed, since their players will have a luxury of trying to qualify for Code A in it's current form, granted they would probably be able to do that. I am predicting WW-mYi partnership to allow Daisy, Sting and check to play in WCS EU too (Daisy already hangs with StarDust). Mvp and Nestea return to Abyss of Code B T_T. Either way, this made Polt the most clever player in the world, to make the best decision possible long before he knew about the whole deal.

Innovation and MMA in WCS EU will usher in the beginning of Acer's domination of the European continent. Throw in Nerchio as well, and it'll be insane how hard the team will dominate.
