Oh no, David Him has to leave. Blizzard should hire somebody with completely different unit design philosophies who knows what they're talking about and how the game should work and not a guy who will listen to nobody, let alone people who give feedback from the professional scene.
I assume you forgot this patch and the horror David Kim unleashed upon the professional scene for almost a full year......
I cannot blame Bisu for retiring. What would you rather play? An imbalanced game with a stagnant meta that your team is forcing you to play or the game you used to play that you were good at and passionate for. I really hope to see him in SSL in the future.
More those geniuses with ideas of how game should work please! I always have a good laugh at their ideas (and yes, i dare to claim that while queen patch was slight overkill, it just unleashed the real problems of match-ups, nothing else).
Lolfail9001, you sure do justice to your nickname on these forums.
Is it only a matter of time until Nuked lives up to his own?! FIND OUT NEXT TIME, ON TEAMLIQUID BALL ZEEEEE
to me this has always been proof of bisu's outstanding mechanics. not his best matchup, but his micro, macro and multitask in this game was unbelievable. and it was against flash
Multitask/macro was actually not that strong in this game. If you look at the mineral counter, it spikes at 1300-1500 during the second part of the mine diffusion. To me this speaks more of his decision to focus entirely on micro, and what heights he could reach if that was the most important part of BW. He knew that micro was more important than macro in this instance (~11:20).
well obviously its gonna spike when hes mine diffusing, hes good at multitask but hes not a hindu deity. but right after its over you can see he puts down a nexus, couple of gateways, arbiter tech, pylons at the 3rd entrance etc. to be able to do all that while holding off constant pushes is still legit.

Oh, of course (: I guess I was thinking of his micro prowess as being his peak achievement in that game, whereas his macro/multitask are more apparent in other games.
Out of interest, how is Bisu regarding in terms of Protoss players in Brood War? The outright greatest or does he occupy a high tier along with others?

I'm forgetting the Elo stats, but if I remember right, then in all of BroodWar, Bisu's peak elo was only topped by Jaedong and Flash. It's hard to definitively say he was outright the best Protoss based solely on elo (well maybe not that hard), but when we compare him to other famous Protoss players like Nal_Ra, Kingdom, Anytime, Reach, Stork, and JangBi, (am I forgetting someone else? I feel like I am) I would have to say Bisu's play stands out past the rest of those guys.

Considering this thread click here came up with the retirement of JangBi it might be worth checking out to get an idea from fellow TLers.

He's often referred to as the greatest protoss of all time by casters, particularly english casters (Artosis, Tasteless, Day9), and I agree. No other protoss has won 3 MSL titles, no other protoss excelled at the vZ match-up. Few had their moments, but they were consistently bad far more than they were consistently good. Bisu's statistics speak for themselves: 71% winrate over zerg. No other protoss player has come close to that.
You could argue that this impressive feat is countered by his bad TvP... Yeah, his TvP is literally all over the place (in his last few matches he would tend to expand everywhere really fast as though he's zerg). But I say that him being consistently good to great throughout his career makes up for that.
