Amm he might play BW again like Jangbi so as somebody who didn't care about his SC2 performance I don't understand why this would make you sad.

Considering the status of recent retirees it is sad.

And whichever SOSPA Korean gets invited to this http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=428974 and wins 25 grand (Let's not kid ourself the Chinese don't have a chance) will be quite the bread-winner. SC2 is dying and these players (at least the majority of them) are using BW as a transitionary period before they either go to College or to military. You should also consider that being a top streamer on Afreeca probably pays a lot more than a mid-tier progamer on an SC2 team.

The question is: if more and more of them start streaming, playing SSL's and so on, will the stream viewership and the tournaments grow to accomodate them or will they be sharing the same small pie. Also will they get that 400$ consistently or was that just for the first streams (remember how Jaedong got a huge viewership for his first SC2 stream). I don't know but if it turns out to be the latter, then things don't look too good.

Jangbi got an incredible 'welcome batch' of balloons, pretty certain the numbers won't sustain that way. If the ultimate plan is to study and find a different career path after military service, I'd much rather see (ex-)progamers get things done immediately rather than stalling out time while making chump change from streaming.

I don't know about that, but I can tell you that you get a LOT more money on Afreeca than on Twitch.tv Koreans donate a lot of money.

Well Bisu never really got strong in SC2 so the SC2 scene does not recognize his retirement quite so much as Idra. Bisu was kinda quiet in SC2.
