So where did you get your awesome inside information on MLG? Do you sit in on their meetings? Hack their emails?

We can take this announcement to mean "SC2 propably won't be at Columbus". And once it's dropped it's not coming back. SC2 simply can't compete with something that is free to play.

SC2 simply can't compete with something that is free to play. Or its on every night of the week and MLG doesn't want to compete with this. Or there are WCS finals near that weekend that we don't know about yet and no players could attend. Or a number of other reasons.

I've been saying this for years now, but there's no reason mapmakers can't make 2v2 viable.

Anyway, i hope mlg just experiements with things and comes to a positive result regarding StarCraft/eSport after columbus.

It's just easier to follow teams, and you have more players to root for. Think about it- people will watch whole matches if ONE of the ten players is one of their favorites. I've been saying this for years now, but there's no reason mapmakers can't make 2v2 viable. Balance would be a big issue. If you think 1v1 balance is tenuous, 2v2 is like a hundred times more complicated.

I didn't write "i dont like MLG" _i'm not the biggest FAN_, HUGE difference, i still watch MLGs. Also if they leave sc2 behind it will be a huge blow for the NA scen. My grammar sucks. Everything i write comes out wrong

Seems odd to just drop a game if you have nothing else planned. the way it seems to come across is that since MLG has no clue how to run an event within a reasonable budget, one that can be supported by advertising, they need developers to be willing to invest cash behind the scenes to make it worth while. it would be reasonable to assume that blizzard helped in some way with the costing of events up until this year, when blizzard is fronting the money for WCS why do they need MLG to run sc2 events? so its not about what they have planned, they just simply lose money on every event unless someone picks up the tab, so they would rather have nothing than something.
