Terran had lowest winrate in June, and despite what they say, this is a nerf to every matchup, and banshees were shit vs P and Z for reasons other than the cloak cost.
This will just make TvT an early game cluster fuck, and have minimal effect vs P or Z.
Now Hellbats will be a hassle just to make vs early chargelot compositions, if you don't get the upgrade they are worthless. So what's our option? A banshee that can be nullified by nexus cannon? Awesome! good job blizzard, yet again. You guys buffed Queens when the matchup was 50/50, now you nerf Terran when they are performing the worst of all races. Keep up the good work guys!

I am a terran player and I approve this change!

I'm not sure about this. I feel like PvT might go back to the guessing game it was in beta - if terran takes a gas, they can do absolutely everything and if you guess wrong you die. But hey, we'll see how it plays out, I may be dead wrong. Definitely liking the hellbat change though, I hope it makes TvT a bit more stable.

I don't mind this change but the thing I hate is they say "other harass is more exciting"
Oh great, so now we're balancing the game around what's exciting and not what's interesting. I'm not saying Hellbat drops were interesting, but this really does put the nail in the coffin for any form of badly needed tank buff because they think they're boring.
I'm losing faith in this game slowly but surely. I really wish mech were more viable

I entirely disagree with how much effect hellbats had on other races, especially when you could just drop them forever and one or two lucky swipes against some subpar micro would net you an entire worker line lost...
Anyways, love both these changes! Agree that it makes banshees more interesting and would be happy to play against htem more often as a zerg.

I guess Protoss will need to go early Robo v Terran again, or use hallucination more often to scout for proxies

All in all this patch makes sense, but i dont think the bansheebuff was neccessary.
I still think that terran will be far be the strongest race 3-4 months from now on.

Stargate can also detect so any tech opening beats it :p

David Kim: "We have heard your cries, the era of hellbat vs hellbat is over!!!" *cheers* David Kim: "Now let the era of banshee vs banshee begin!!!" -_- DK why?

Now that hellbats are nerfed I expect zerg to dominate the scene.
|
I am fine with the hellbat change but I am not sure how the reduced cost will make banshees any better. The timing is basically the same (maybe a difference of 10s at best since you could start the cloack as soon as starport was finished) and both protoss and zerg have solid detection and means of defending the banshee. I feel like the most important thing for units like banshees or oracles or DTs is how fast they can hit the opponent...

I fear that banshee openers will become the norm in TvT, with cloakshees every damn game It's going to be pretty annoying still, although it might encourage more marine/tank.

But for TvP, the requirement of a tech-lab for researching blue flame for 110 seconds may remove the only new change to Terran TvP composition (MMMVG) which has been the same and only composition since 2010. Thank god. MMMVG is awesome. I didn't mean mech. I just think that Terran TvP composition should has some variations and diversities, like any other matchups.
Desperately push mech to be viable is the worst thing Blizzard could possibly do. Let it develope.

My meme got deleted, but the idea is the same. Terran had the HIGHEST winrate in May. Not sure what you are looking at.
