I wonder if this will make hellion-banshee openers still viable versus zergs? 100-100 less investment into cloack can mean more infrastructure and upgrades, no?

Maybe helpful for TvT, though I just think it will go back to banshee instead of HB; much more stable for sure... Though, I don't see how this will address the other problems too much. It's not hellbats on their own that are the trouble, but the fact that when you combine a unit with insane light DPS + a speedy medivac problems start to arise with defense having to be superb so that you do not outright lose. Simply put: It's much easier for the attacker.

I still maintain that medivacs are the issue here, and I don't think it would take much to fix the issue(ex. boosting costing energy, a very cheap upgrade so that it delays speed medivac pushes for 1 minute [11/12min speed instead of 10]). Regardless of what is in them, marines, Marauders, or whatever, if you can't kill it the efficiency of the unit is much too high for good multitaskers. That is skill on one end, but certainly one sided if the defender does not have an equal way to shut it down. I could honestly care less about the HB damage. I just want to be able to effectively shut down drops without there being a random chance I just miss a singular drop and lose half my worker line to whatever the units are.

TL;DR: I wish they'd address unit combinations with the medivac, and any other race unit combinations that seem off, instead of a one-dimensional approach to a singular unit as if it's the biggest problem in the game (I.E: VR/HB/SW etc)

That banshee buff seems huge to me, gonna be interesting to see how it affects early game detection timings.

Good patch, I think. There will be some sick banshee timings, I should prepare for that. But hellbat drops are just stupid at the moment, so I like it.

I'm still split on the Hellbat nerf. I feel like it destroys the only viable harass option for them in the early game, but in a way maybe it is a bit too powerful.

Banshee's needed a buff, but Zerg's are still retardedly safe against them. Why on Earth did they give the Zerg the opportunity to build spores without evo chambers? Does terran build turrets without ebay or does protoss spam cannons with no forge? How is that even remotely fair? Add to that huge difference maker that a Zerg will always have at least 2Queens to defend a banshee.

That's ridiculous.

Zergs already have spore crawlers
Protoss can detetc with Stargate too, and they can support photon cannons with more damage from Nexus (or just recall Stalkers), so no problems here.

I know but the marines can take them out, banshee marines was really good for taking out the third hatch and now its gonna be better so i don't know.

On second thought, while I love the nerf on the hellbat, I think I would have preferred a slight buff to the tank over the banshee.

It's only 100 gas - build time is still the same. Just get a spore at the front if you still have problems dealing with it.

Banshee cloak change seems strange to me so we'll see how it plays out. Can't imagine many people being mad about the hellbat change though.

Yes, I'm well aware that each race has things that detect, the question is in regards to how much earlier cloaked banshees may be arriving relative to other infrastructure decisions now that the cost is so much less.

For anyone wondering, I just tried to go for a 1 gas cloak banshee (11 gas/13rax) and when the banshee starts I'm still somewhere between 50 and 70 gas short for 100/100 cloak.

I like the Hellbat change. Good job, Blizzard.

I'm not sure about banshee buff though. I have to try that out myself.
