wow. its surprising that this is debatable o.O i thought there's only one solution, play on KR
playing environment (LOW LATENCY!!!!!!) > procedure
they're pros, best environment needs to be provided to them, rules can bend for occasions like this.
i would
1) let them play on kr 2) no observer unless observer is from kr 3) check their match history to verify 4) cast from replay which i assume they will do
i dont know why they're so stubborn, like so many here, that say "its WCA AM , must be played on AM!". there is no logic in this except following rules like a mindless dog that cant think for themselves.

People are more focused on bashing players who chose NA than seeing good games.
I don't really have a strong opinion on this myself, but unfortunately it appears you have a point after glancing through this thread. People seem to be more concerned about punishing HerO for entering WCS America than to actually weigh the pros and cons of this specific situation.
"What are they doing in the WCS NA in the first place? They should not have been allowed anyway. Get out of my USA while I support my hometown heroes like Stephano and WhiteRa. Stop stealing our money".
Of course the above is exaggerated, but I don't think we would get even 10% of the complaints if everyone except Koreans were allowed to enter WCS America.

This rule does not make much sense since you allowed Koreans in.
If you want a different WCS NA with a different rule on the region lock, that is where your blood, sweat and tears should be spent since it'd actually matter and be useful there.
I'm actually pretty damn okay with making it as uncomfortable and annoying for non-NA players to participate in WCS NA as possible. Slightly worse games is a price I'll happily pay for that.

His point is that the increased latency (even if it's equal for both players) is unpleasant and therefore an artificial deterrent for cross-region players.
It's a valid argument. I disagree with it, but it is a valid argument.

As far as i remember in the Rules that players got it was clearly stated that there is only 1 server the games will be played on for each region.

i dont care about the protectionism by the americans.
I think a given rule should not be bend or changed midseason. When game 3 is on daybreak, it is played on Daybreak and no other map because neither of the players wants do play Daybreak. (weird example i know )

So basically we've come to the same conclusion from the earlier pages, that this feeling is all out of pitiful spite and frustration. Nice. Well it's good to see you're honest about it, at least.
Why not make them play on EU then, the latency from KR to there is even worse.

Any barrier that makes it more awkward/unpleasant for people who aren't contributing to the American scene to play in the American servers WCS is a good thing.

Would Apoc be allowed to ask for a rematch on Korean server? It's mid-season and precedent has already been set, the time to ask for a rules change is between the season not during them.

He's ultimately arguing about the overall system. This isn't about the overall system. If he wants a nationality based region lock (which he obviously does) it's a different discussion than this. His argument is basically "yeah it's worse for them but they shouldn't be allowed to be here anyway so fuck them"

Wow at that poll. HerO and Major should play worse games because Americans are butthurt about Koreans in their tournament I guess. The negativity and spitefulness really gets me in these threads sometimes.

We already knew that when you got a 90 day ban for shitting on Stephano.

Even if you're unhappy with the way WCS allows Koreans to play on NA, rules like this hurt the players and make for worse games. This is not a very constructive way to address the "region protection" issue in my opinion.

Did you actually bother to read the thread?
Other players have already had to play their games on NA, the rules said that the games would be played on NA and they willingly signed up for WCS NA.
Mid-season rules changes to give special treatment to certain players are a bad thing.
