Correction: Daily ESPORTS mistakenly reported earlier that Jaedong would return to Team Eight immediately should they find a sponsor. This was a misunderstanding; Jaedong's 1 year period with EG is binding.

No offense, but if you've never watched BW you don't know what you're talking about. Jaedong's play is near and dear to many of us and the way he approaches starcraft is truly special. His moment may not happen today or tomorrow or next month, but he's a living legend and deserves to be watched more closely than almost any other player.
OK I'm backing away slowly here, sorry for the fans I've upset
Well I hope he does show results for EG and not end up an ageing superstar trying SC2 for one more shot at a career, like JulyZerg and Nada.
If he has a career in SC2 as solid as Boxers then its a win. If he has a career likce Nada then it will be sad. But as you can see, BW fans will get rabid which gives EG more dirty money. Which makes it a win for them. And their dirty money.
you've got that backwards - Boxer did nothing in sc2, NaDa at least hung around in Code S for like a year.
Actually, Boxer has had by far more impact on the SC2 scene than NaDa had had even in Code S.
NaDa's career is "sad" because he didn't really do anything except hang around, like July. Boxer hung around (albeit yes, at a lower level) but also created and coached one of the most successful SC2 teams in Korea (RIP).
Boxer's presence in sc2 was huge, I'm not denying that. I thought we were strictly discussing results here, in which case he really didn't do anything. Beating Idra at MLG? GSL ro4 when no one even knew how to play the game?

The SlayerS incident, made me take a 2 week off from TL.Net, jesus that was horrible, wasn't there three threads at the same time going in SC2 general at one point?
Yeah, there were a ridiculous number of threads in SC2 Gen and then one in the Blogs section too from TB ... interviews out the wazoo, random as shit Twitter wars, etc.
Saddest thing is that we still don't know happened. :D

I did not follow brood war, but understand it.
Is it not kind of scary that the top korean SC1 pros have to find foreigner teams? Is it sustainable?
A better question is if they HAVE to join foreigner teams or is it just that EG and teams like TL are offering so much more.
If that is the case, why can EG afford so much and what are korean teams doing wrong?
SlayerS seemed like a very very popular team for fans and sponsors, what caused it to rot to death? was it bad management or just lowering interest in korean fans?
I think it is pretty obvious that the foreign market (in terms of fans) for SC2 is much bigger than in Korea.

When people talk about NaDa's career in SC2, they mostly see it as the career of someone who failed to live up to his potential.
When people talk about Boxer's career in SC2, they mostly see it as the career of someone who was way past his prime but nevertheless strove to play his very best for the fans and sometimes succeeded while also building one of the best Korean SC2 teams (great rags to riches to rags story).
It's a difference in expectation. NaDa was supposed to revolutionize. Boxer was just supposed to continue on and if he could pick up wins in GSL every now and then, then good on him.
Though I guess if NaDa wants any consolation, he should breathe a sigh of relief that he didn't turn out like Bisu, muahahaha.

Ya I remember TB... Milkis came out of the woodwork and told TB to be more rational and less emotional when he posts, that alone made me wanna stay away from TL.Net for a while.

Boxer got 3rd at MLG, Nada got 4th. Both got high finishes in the GSL too. They were capable of winning SC2 championships at their best, it just didn't happen. They were very close though.
