It's closing because foreigns don't have intrest/success playing in code S anymore. Stephano is currently the only good foreign that could have very good success in code S but he is refusing to play in it even though he would have got free seed many times....
Naniwa is the second foreign hope but he dropped out of code S :-/
So why would they pay expensive rent if foreigns are not even playing in their league anymore.

Oh mah gawd, a Desrow fat joke? You must be some kind of Martin Lawrence or some shit.
The GOM house was a cool experiment, but was always a big money sink for GOMtv and not something that was meant to last.
It might not have provided the best practice environment for players like it was intended to, but it did provide a way for players to be here and build a lot of the Korea - Global connections that everyone is benefiting from today in various leagues. It also provided a way for casters to get to Korea and be able to do their thing at Code A without having to scramble to find a place to live. So in my mind it did do a lot of good although maybe not in the way that was intended originally.

Pretty crazy how many people are saying this is a good thing. Anything which encourages foreigners living in Korea is amazing. A great place to socialize with other gamers and stay. Maybe not an official training house, but take what you can get.
Most Koreans I talk to have basically dismissed SC2 as a competitive sport. Once Brood War died, they moved to League. All the PC bangs advertise League instead of SC2.
