Things naturally end, and new things take their place. Having a single foreigner house shut down that is not even being used right now has nothing to do with SC2 taking a negative hit. Stop reading soo closely into things.
Since you mention BW, yes, it did have less events then sc2.... but to put things in perspective, BW was THE esport game during that era. There wasn't anything close to it to threaten its throne. When one thought of esports, one thought of BW first.
Today? LoL has achieved the status every one on this board was hoping SC2 would be at by this time. Let's not kid ourselves. Now it's Starcraft that has to catch up.

That's not true for a lot of people. There are a number of us who thought of Brood War as the game that Koreans played, with Counterstrike as the best competitive title.

That has nothing to do with this topic. Just posting that here shows you are a bw elitist.

Thanks for the statement Khaldor. As you said, it's sad, but the right choice.
A shame that only a few of the people there really used it as the opportunity it was.

Sounds like people were just partying it up in there haha. Thanks for the video Khaldor!

Obviously to invest in foreign viewers. Well, no name foreign "pros", who are not even able to gain regional fame, are not going to bring foreign viewers for GOM (not talking about players like Mana, Naniwa, Stephano, Major, ...).
So giving those players free money is stupid. I'd rather see them paying Khaldor & co a better salary (or as someone earlier suggested better player intros^^).
@Khaldor: Thanks for the insight !

It actually is. Don't try to find excuses.
If sc2 was growing, more people would be moving into gom house (foreginers and koreans from other cities).

The reason why they are thinking about closing the GOM house (they haven't actually closed it yet, they are still thinking about it) is because the people who came over treated it as a vacation. They didn't really use the house to actually practice.

Until Khaldor mentioned it, I never really appreciated how lucky the SC2 pro's and casters were to have the GOM house.
I always got the impression from Pro player comments that the house was really bad, and a terrible place to train and live. It seems like they were just being ungrateful and needlessly negative.

Why they don't practice? Have you thought about it?
