fuck, creator byun possible teamkill, killer facing flash very bad for him, maru having a hard opponent in flash, b4 having thestc and gumiho on his road... bomber facing baby...................... at least parting got an easy road lol
Can't believe Bomber vs Baby is first round. I feel like Baby has the potential to be a Code S player and one of these two players will have to be knocked into Code B.
Vampire/Parting/Hyun/Yoda, Creator/Byun/MC/alive, MMA/Keen/Inori/Sniper, and Oz/Supernova/thestc/bbongbbong/Gumiho look like the hardest groups. Flash looks like he has a really good chance of Code S.
hyun is facing a barcode in gsl? how is that even fair that someone can smurf in this tournament? hyun can't prepare specifically for the opponent.. unless they privately informed him who it was to hide the id from the public, that seems wrong.

Can't tell if this is a joke or I'm being trolled.
You might want to include that the red border is for players who dropped down from code S (?)
And I hate that barcode player. I mean it's ok to play with it on the ladder but for a tourney chose a name ffs! I don't want matches of iiiiiii vs LLLLLiiiii!

It's Sleep, and every player knows it.
He's playing teamless at the mo so he decided to parody the id during qualies.

In a couple of years we will get to know that GSL manipulated the groups to have the famous Kespa players in Code S, including matchfixing. If we want Bw players to play sc2, I need also all the drama to feel warm inside
Nice brackets for MaNa, asd is definitly beatable and it could be much worse than Maru/effort.
Flash/Nani will turn the LR into hell, regardless of the end, so I am not sure, if I really want to see this. But I don´t want them to fall into Code B as well...

That's the only way to balance it out, with the assumption that ro16 is harder than ro32
TL writers will have to write a "Stacked" for the up and downs too. Those will be hard as hell, o'god. And a lot of players who will end in code B are also very strong with this ro48 TT
I honestly doubt the brackets were all randomly made.. Flash getting all P again ;_; GOM is probably trying to get him straight to Code S so they can get more money >.<
Sang wanted to play vs Puzzle but Puzzle forfeited T_T (Miya said that Puzzle wanted to retire if he lost to a KeSPA player but I thought it was a joke).

I just counted the number of players at the liquipedia page of this code a, and the count goes up to 49. Which is quite a weird number to have at a round of 48 but might get us closer to the disappearance of Puzzle.

You only drop out of Code A if you lose in Round 1. If you lose in Round 2 you only miss your chance to directly go back to Code S by winning in Round 3. But even if you lose in Round 2 or 3, you will still get to play in the Up & Downs for a chance to get promoted to Code S.

CJ's herO is not part of this GSL season. He did not make it through Code A qualifiers and did not, as some people seem to believe, get a Code A seed. There is Liquid's HerO in Code S and 8th Team's hero in Code A currently.
And as I posted previously, let's get the capitalizations right to avoid confusion in the future: HerO -> Liquid herO -> CJ Entus hero -> 8th Team

Yes in reality we have: the proper caps are: Liquid.HerO, CJ.HerO, 8th.herO but to avoid the confusion we write them as HerO (liquid), herO (CJ) and hero (8th) on liquipedia.

Also guys CoCa, Alicia and Min did not take part in GSL Code A prelims, I really do not understand what is happening to SlayerS nowdays.

Maybe someone could tweet Cella and ask what's up. He did accompany some SlayerS guys on Day 1 of the Code A preliminaries, but did not go on Day 2 I think. Hope there wasn't a car accident or anything.

For some reason proleague records don't really mean shit in the Code A prelims. People like CJ_rare, SKT T1_Ssang and T8 by.hero somehow made it through, even though they have a minimal amount of wins or even games in sc2 proleague.
Dream vs Genius read Dream's interview "This time I don't want to fall out of Code A. Beating Genius hyung will be my goal. Genius hyung keeps making fun of me saying that I suck and he keeps on refusing to acknowledge Code B players. This time for sure, I want to defeat Genius hyung."

Probably cause there's less gameplay of them, so it's hard to know what to expect. Lots of KeSPA players in the prelim., so they would have a good idea of the playstyle of the top KeSPA players.
I hate to say it, but considering what shape Naniwa has been in lately, I would be sad but not that surprised if he fell out of Code A to Mini. I really hope he doesn't, though. For me personally it's great to have a countryman in the GSL, but also, Nani is a very smart and dedicated player. I believe that he can get back in shape and become even better than he was before. Falling out of Code A would be a devastating blow though. asd is someone I haven't watched a lot, but IIRC, he's pretty good. If Mana gets a second chance and stays in Korea, I think he can surprise everyone even more.
Also, I'd kill to see a Flash vs Naniwa game.
Damn, Code A is good this season. I believe that the time is coming to stop frowning at Code A, viewing it as a subpar division. There are a ton of good players in Code A, and with Kespa players joining, the inflation will only continue. Compare the quality of players who have already fallen out of Code S to what Code S was a few years ago.
On September 14 2012 22:24 CoR wrote: not a single kespa vs kespa ? thats strange O_o
Typically it's structured so it's a new code A player vs a returning GSL player, so unless they did it as a qualifying kespa player vs a seeded kespa player, it shouldn't have been possible for them to match up in round 1
Mana definitely has a chance to make it into the up/downs and/or stay in code A, good draws, lots of epic matchups i believe. that alive/mc/byun/creator draw though is fucking sick.

That's actually a huge deal if he does retire though, Puzzle has been the slayers team league ace for most of this year. Without him Slayers is really not that strong until MMA gets back in tournament winning form.
edit: also it's sick how many Kespa players swarmed into Code A. Not really surprising but more like "oh fuck, you can't forget about those guys for a moment".

Even is he's really good, with 90 KeSPA players switching to Starcraft 2, it will be twice as hard to make money than it already is.

Good story lines sell tickets, and tbh I am not complaining. :D
Of course not complaining, just thought the brackets were supposed to be somewhat random.
First round of Code A is Player from prelim vs Player from Up&Down(+Code S Ro32). Since this is the first time Kespa players will be playing in Code A, there won't be such match up. Actually, JD could've ended up with Kespa player since he comes from Code S Ro32, but it didn't happen.
For this particular season, there was 1 extra spot (Puzzle's), so we have First vs Bbyong, both players from prelim playing against each other.
In the coming GSLs I can definitely see many frequently-deep GSL players falling out of GSL all together. Code S is getting nastier, and Code A isn't getting any easier. That first round is going to introduce a lot of sorrow to a lot of players in the future.
