One thing I'd like to point out is the actual design (look) of the Warhound is really, really clever. In the Story the Terran's are really far behind, the Terrans have lost a ton and they're in an area of space with no support from any other support groups (especially after Brood War). They've lost the means of producing the goliath so to save money/resources they try and piece together a unit from the scraps of old units.

Yeah... People here expect DK and his MasterLeague friends to produce amazing games, while they basically just try to show off some unit interactions. For all we know, the Tempest "rushing" could have set the Protoss back hugely and the correct way to combat auch Teran armies could he to camp the Starports until Protoss Air becomes unbeatable ;-)

This is all fine and I can see what you're trying to point out but the units in the WoL battle report are applicable to a RTS game of quality, the warhound/oracle are what we're getting... And they're awful.

And during all this they went from the more poor space junk/junkyard looking race (sc1) to high technology motherfucking TRANSFORMERS in sc2. Makes sense... xD

its rather easy to judge how creative a new unit is and what effects its concept will have on the game.
slow mech marauders and super guardians dont exactly seem creative or fun. not even talking about the problem of more "1a" units.

its an alpha of a game... and if you break up each unit it dsnt sound too interesting, but mix them all together and who knows... but this BR is like watching some bronze PvT and calling out terran bio as a dull a-click race

We have the whole beta waiting for us to whine. :D

Well obviously not in the Battle Report, but I'm eagerly awaiting SotG feedback.
I don't normally tune in but you have a good point, I think I might have to myself for this one.

I saw a huge post on TL about 5 months ago about "The defenders advantage" and Protoss not having it. The Mothership Core is definitely a good addition to this game, however......... 13 range seems stupid - Seige tanks should still beat it (and yes I even play Protoss and think this) It also seems a tad early, the recall so quickly and the base defense SO quickly means that early game harassment becomes much less viable. Even though *I* as a bad player would appreciate it. Fuck what I want - I want my GSL games to be awesome and this will impact them in a negative way.
I really do want to see better overall base defence in SC2 - because in WoL as it currently is (somewhat well balanced) one of the only weak poiints is the lack of comebacks, awesome comebacks are rare and it would be nice if it was just a little punishing to attack your enemy in their base. Canons / turrets / bunkers don't need to be 4x better but just something to make it a bit of a challenge to take down a base (and therefore possibly allowing for longer, more intense games) would be nice, comebacks are unfortunately rare - yet so exciting.
Really appreciate whoever wrote that defenders advantage post, it was very insightful

pretty much lol... tbh i think that battle report was a pointless video, it didn't really show anything new at all.. i really wanted to see how the new terran mech worked vs protoss robo units... :/

I think I understand the reason behind that though. After defeating the UAE the Dominion basically got a massive surge of scap/money which they used to build stuff like the thor, the vikings and in the story mode the odin. :p

It's kind of blatantly obvious how PvT is going to turn out. Terran crushing face with EMP+BH+WH. Hell with Haywire missiles, you don't even need vikings unless they go Tempest.
atleast they could redesign those rocks (still look like a bunch of horseshit).

Blizzard is trying to force down our throats that Tempest are cool units. The truth is that the Carrier is a much better concept.
EDIT: The problem I see is that Protoss is gonna get shafted, because the Viking counters Robo and HOTs Stargate pretty easily. At least with goliaths Protoss could protect their Carriers with High ground advantage and by blocking with a ground force. Not to mention storm is more effective on slow ground units.

Well, I am not so sure. I would rather go bio if I will use that composition.

But, WH_BH is easier and thus that is what all the pros will use since it gives them a better chance at winning because they don't have to worry about lategame Protoss.

I'm usually not the one to complain, but Blizard wanting terran players to mech more in TvP results in.. essentially a mechanical marauder? That is so incredibly lame.. -_-
You summarised it well, they really do feel like cheesey fucking C&C units. I don't mean to pick on Dustin, I mean he's a person, we shouldn't be assholes to the guy but isn't it a coincidence that he turns up and all the elements of Brood War which were good seem pissed away just to make room for "cool shit! LOL" in SC2? These units have a distinct C&C or Supreme Commander lameness about them. Plus - to get nerdy, they just don't really seem to fit in with the lore of the units for the Terrans in the Starcraft fucking universe!
I get the impression that Blizzard don't know what mech actually means. It does not damn well mean that you get units with the same movement, acceration, turning speed as bio units, the same or similar firing rates or types but just make the unit models fucking machines! because the new Terran mech army seems no different at all from a bio army! Except unlike having to press T to stim them, the warhound will autocast the damn homing rocket.....
Madness

Also, recall allowing Protoss to do all-ins and bail as soon as they get in trouble.
It's like Blizzard wants to screw over the earlygame.
Nothing needs to be said about the Tempest. Get rid of it and bring back the Carrier.
And it's nice to see that my predictions on how bad warhounds and battle hellions would be were pretty much spot on.
Also, lolacle.
The only thing that has any potential in HotS is the widow mine, and even that needs a couple of big changes.
Why is Blizzard doing this to us?
Theorycraft time. Make mothership core require cyb core, change range to 12 and reduce damage. Make recall a researchable item at the cyb core, requires twighlight council before you can use it.
Seems to allow people to still defend their base *kinda* early, delays the recall which I agree seems overly powerful yet makes it interesting in that it's researchable (and possible to chronoboost it) AND it makes you have to choose either air weapons/armour or researching recall (unless you build 2 cyb cores)

Is it really better than Bio? You can't remax as fast as bio, can't control space like original mech. It's immobile. Only thing it has is it's can go toe to toe with protoss army but you don't have warp in...
I really dislike how Blizzard is going about TvP. "Protoss can just amove so lets give Terran more amove options". Here's my idea: take away the maurauder and make zealots armored XD (they have +1 armor anyways..). But seriously, the maurauder and warhound aren't bringing anything to the game.
