We'll pay some indie game company to make a complete BW clone just like torchlight was with diablo. It'll be the next biggest thing and ppl will stop saying "OMG STOP PLAYING A 12 YEAR OLD GAEM LOLZ".
We'll make it f2p and spice it up with cute anime graphics. It'll be huge. I can see it already.
+ Show Spoiler +But seriously nothing will ever replace BW

So is that it? no leagues left that has SC:BW once OSL makes the switch?
R.I.P Starcraft Broodwar thou shall be missed.

While this is great news for SC2 it's sad for BW - no more liquibet titles to win XD

Poor poor broodwar. Never played it, never involved in the community, but you guys have so much passion for that game, it's really hard not to be sad at the end of that. On the other hand, it's not completely over, they do have sc2. Hopefully they watch and at least give it a try for a month or so.

The hardcore would be exactly the same as BW with the pathing the way buildings work, automine etc etc and the casual mode would be SC2 Ish with BW Units. I really dont see why blizzard wouldnt want to cash in on this.

Because there really is nothing to cash in on.

Rip BW...

Well, atleast this is more concrete than when WC3 slowely faded away into Darkness ;(
It was the most influencial time in eSports history yet, and as long as we all live, its time and glory will not be forgotten. Rest in a wonderful peace, Starcraft 1, and may you always be remembered.

Guess BW is coming to an end, on the bright side time for Sc2 to get a hell of alot better

Torch light 1 in game play and feels just like diablo 1 and if there is a will there is a way maybe some indie developer will pick up broodwar and made a rts enjoyable as much as bw . There is a hope for indie developers since torch light did really well despite having the same core mechanics from diablo 1 and diablo2 in torch light 1 and 2 . Blizzard can't sue runic for having the same mechanics of looting and poting up when you are on low hp or mana .
Any indie developer is welcome to make a game as good as broodwar and I will be the first to say take my MONEY !. Yes I agree nothing can replace bw .

MKP for his first OSL 2nd place

Does this mean Moletrap will be casting StarCraft II again?

RIP Brood war.. The game I've played the most, the longest, the most passionate than any other game.. RIP

why would indie developers invest in a dying and overly complicated genre? Dota and FPS games requires very little funding and have a huge market. If I remembered correctly it only costs LoL 200k to make their game, while games like sc2 requires 100 million budget

why would old(defunct) blizzard north team make a game that has diablo in every movement and loot in the game ?.

Because last I check RPG genre as a whole is still going strong.

they should seriously remake BW, or a clone, like torchlight with diablo, BW is a legendary game, a museum piece, that cannot be lost.

Last I check fps games are much more stronger than the rpg scene right now .However that does not mean some one can't do a torch light facelift to a re imagination of broodwar. I would like to add to the fact that torchlight bgm music is really one of a kind mat uleman is really talented and I am hopeful that he keeps spinning this magic of his.
