those lesser players probably do not get paid or very little. People like catz though need to be paid since they are playing full time. I think ryan is a teacher now or something (don't quote me on this) so he doesn't play much anymore. He is more on the team for just fun I would guess right now maybe he will play more in the future, but the main point is that the players that left probably wanted more money that col could offer ( or wanted to reform root )

I don't think they are better than any of the players you just listed...

Wow, didn't really see this coming especially after the interview with namely CatZ and Drewbie right after IPl4 (which was done by coL themselves).
I just hope CatZ keeps playing SC2... he's my favourite "outsider" for sure, and he spices up the scene with his personality and his standard play.

Or: It could because he thinks that. Do not drag down all of us in this. I have seen that alot this last few weeks. (Of all countries.)

Best of luck to both parties. I'll jump on the wagon and eagerly await the return of ROOT.

Oh shit, the return of ROOT...
|
very professional announcement by coL

Basically "We don't want to renew contracts where we have pay for someone to travel from Peru", I guess.
Best of luck to everyone and all that.

ROOT will return!! :D gahhhhhhhhhh

Best of luck to everyone and all that. Personally I'm hoping it is more along the lines of some big sponsor saying, "There is still an extreme amount of very cheap brand value in the ROOT tag, second only to TL and maybe EG. With Catz, Drewbie and Kiwi we can restore the brand to its former glory." If done right a ROOT revival could give some sponsor a fairly cheap, but very popular team.
In any case good luck to both parties, hope it works out.

People need to stop saying that CatZ, drewbie leaving has to do with them being "bad" or lacking results.. If that were the case then Minigun would have been gone as well because he has had even lesser results then CatZ.
Its likely because they wanted to pursue other things, eg: CatZ maybe wanting to reform ROOT. Or them wanting a bit more than coL is wishing to dish out.
I can hardly see CatZ refusing to accept a lower offer from coL and leaving the team as result without a back-up plan in mind.. So I'm sure he is either wanting to (once again) reform ROOT, or pursue a contract with another team that has a bit more salary space.
Its not surprising seeing coL want to free that up after picking up Ganzi and what not. I'm almost certain that the only reason Minigun stayed is because he was willing to bite on a lower offer.

Pleaseeeee let this mean ROOT is reforming!!

Not sure about Drewbie cause I havent heard or seen anything from him since he announced he was going to Korea but catz is definitely not better than Ryan or Goswer (havent seen anything from RSVP so cant speak there either =/). Plus I see Catz streaming Dota2 quite a bit so I'm assuming he's not as committed to Sc2 from a results perspective as a team like complexity would prefer him to be. Just an assumption tho

Odd, Drewbie I can understand but Catz? One of the most popular SC2 players out there, I'm pretty sure complexity would rather have kept them if possible, which leads me to believe they left of their own accord. Maybe return of ROOT gaming?

YAYYYYYYYYYY ROOT IS BACK!
