It's not even that. They just don't know that the Queen's air range is 7, apparently. Despite being happy for the Zerg buffs.

Good. Going DTs in PvP should be a risky move, more so than any other techpath. That way, you might see a stable group of builds emerging with more potential for longer games, rather than the whole clusterfuck of counter-builds you see going around now.
DT shits on Twilight without Robo. Fast Robo shits on DT (unless you get DTs yourself, like Hero...). Twilight shits on... Stargate, I guess? And Stargate is pretty good vs fast Robo. Then you get the whole fast expand stuff as well...

I wish Blizz would quote their thought process for all patches, the observer one is random and the queen one seems badly thought out ... :/
The observer change is most likely to address the 111 from terran faster observer means faster immortal... both of which are needed to stop the 111 banshee tank marine union.

These are the kind of changes that are the ones that should be made. Everything Blizzard has done so far is fix everything that is broken. In that, they have succeeded. Nothing in WoL is broken, but there are still some imbalances. What now needs to be changed are other little things that can help fix the imbalances. Rather than nerfing the imbalanced thing, the proper change would be to change something else. (e.g. Protoss 2 base all-ins are too easy/strong vs. Zerg. The right changes might be OL speed and Queen range rather than Toss nerfs. Nerfs may affect PvT too much.)
It would be better if this stuff could be tested on PTRs then, if it works, be implemented, but nobody who's opinion is worth anything plays the PTRs.

It also means you'll know the attack is coming ten seconds earlier, allowing you to prepare correctly slightly faster.

9 range queens.... the horror =)

And I was hoping blizzard would actually stop with this stupidity that is this new patch before releasing it. This seems so out of touch with how the game is developing that it is very dishearthening(to the point of me very possibly just quit playing)

They've had a Blizz made custom map available over the past few weeks(?) with this changes implemented for people to play and provide feedback.

You're assuming some kinda DT cheese here. But this makes even mid to late game DT usage a nightmare since even if you literally got a DT into their base it's like...20 seconds to build a chronod observer with this change?
Though I can't complain about the change in terms of banshee use and scouting Terrans (wall off all the things!).

reapers were already killed long before that.
Making hellions a bit worse was just needed, i had rather seen range 4 though. I really wonder if FFE busts with queens will start to show up. Queens being able to freely pick off walls could really be good on smaller maps like korhal compound. For example make 3 quick queens walk em over while letting 2 queens at home and stream with lings after queens take down wall.

Hahah yea lol. Now i feel even more ashamed xD

Zerg needs a bit of help early game to not get abused so easily. Terrans should not whine. Terran is the most rewarded race if played correctly. Protoss obs change is fair..they get very easily thrown off their build by having to use robo's for obs if sniped..very abusable imo.
|
Balance aside, the fact that a queen can equal a machine gun's range just by stretching its leg is stupidly funny.
|
The range effect should make it easier to use queens with roaches right?. as they can stay behinde and shot andd wont dance around as the immortatl did prepatch.
|
The bunker needs to be 100% NOT SALVAGABLE!. No other unit can be scrapped for minerals back, this is so unfair. There should be an element of cost and risk for throwing up a bunker like all other race defensive buildings.
|
Whhhattttt??!?!?! Where's the bunker change?
Super excited about zerg changes tho :D
|
I think the main part of the queen buff is to help zerg pick off marine drops that go into those hard to reach areas behind the mineral line with zerglings

Yeah I think a side-effect of the queen buff will make dealing with banelings in ZvZ a bit easier as well
|
I will never pick another unit in monobattles other than the queen now. The queen can ground attack from behind an advancing roach line? Seems strong. I'm not a huge fan of the buffs. Even as a protoss, I feel like they're just keep buffing obs build time until we start getting it for free. I don't think we need to be freeing up robo time any more than it already is - HT's are better than colossus tech anyways, and you can already get an observer out in one chronoboost.
OV speed seems to be a needed change, Zerg scouting in the early game is pitiful. I wonder if this will effect the unupgraded speed of overseers?
|
Terran just keeps requiring more and more skill to play. =P Should have really listened to my big brother in the beta and just play protoss.

I think it's pretty much what they had in mind for that change yeah .... I'm pretty curious about trying to bust Protoss walls with Queens like some people mentioned, although I'm not really sure it could happen quick enough to make it viable (assuming your opponent scouts it as late as possible [when you start attacking his Forge] it stills give him a pretty decent amount of time to prepare, a second wall/cannons/chronoboost WG etc etc).
