Community polls are cute, but it doesn't cost them anything. If I offered them $100,000.00 to neglect the poll results, they'd do it. They "sponsor" events, in the form of giving GOM a contract and collecting money. They don't "sponsor" events like Dr. Pepper sponsors MLG. Blizzcon was canceled (was that this year?), but normally it's the worlds best marketing toy, and it earns them money. We wait years for SC2 and Diablo 3 because a finished product sells more copies. They don't care about you, stop pretending they're Jesus, Inc. They care about money. It's not fucking shocking, they are a capitalist business. They're supposed to care about money. A few points, Blizzard have said that they actually lose money on Blizzcon and the employees if they want to go then they actually have to buy their own tickets. And what about Riot? Is that the best you came up with? Because really Valve and Riot are the only other major companies that are on a similar level to what Blizzard does for the community. you're just a jaded cynical person that's taking everything for granted. The difference between Blizzard at the other two is how they go about making money

Why lie about that they probably have it in the annual report whether they made a loss or not. Blizzcon is obviously a massive marketing tool so they're probably fine with making a loss for what they get in return.

That would either make their leagues irrelevant or slowly strangle the foreigner scene as the best players are kept out of foreigner tournaments. Either way, there's no room in my opinion for a Kespa-style exclusive league and a vibrant foreign tournament scene like we have now. They can't coexist, because the best players in the world will either be in one or the other. I dont understand when you say "kespa will try and enforce exclusivity again". They never did in the first place. They would let foreigners come and compete in courage tournament however they were not good enough to win that. So they were not picked up by teams and it became what it is now today.

The problem is that two games are not mutually exclusive. BW teams would perform poorly when forced to adapt to another game and their performance would suffer in both. For illustrated example, it's like forcing all LoL teams to play in DotA league will make the scene better as there would now be more teams; instead, it is going to turn out as farce.
