I think this is only good news as BW is clearly in decline (being overtaken by LoL) and SC2 is the new game. You should support this decision as a Starcraft fan. BW people may argue that SC2 is not as in depth as BW (which it probably isn't), but i'd take SC2 any day over watching a team of 5 idiots a-moving a single hero unit down 3 alleyways.

Now we shall see how many BW Pros actually think and play, and how bad the mechanics of current SC2 pros actually are.

Rofl, good news for BW fans? Give me a break. I could care less whether something has the Starcraft name attached to it. I am not just going to blindly support something because of who made it or what it's about, tt has to earn my appreciation and support

I completely agree, right now LoL seems to be the game taking over in Korea, and I personally have no love for it. unite for starcraft!

Hellion micro is pretty limited and slow. The terrorist probably won't even find it fun. Also, it doesn't matter if 'Starcraft' stays the primary esport in Korea, if the game isn't as good as BW.

More competitions and high level players in Korea is good in principle, but could very easily upset the balance of how SC2 is as an eSport now. I don't, and never have followed SC1, so I don't know what ProLeague is like. But as I see it, GOM have done a pretty great job of catering to the foreigner community thus far - something that you can't really expect every organisation to do - since their ratings are realistically generated locally, and their sponsors will mainly be Korean too I would guess. Providing stuff like an English broadcast team is expenditure that isn't really necessary to keep ratings high or Korean sponsors happy. If the introduction of the ProLeague shifted the balance of power away from GOM, and the ProLeague didn't cater to foreign viewers to the same degree that GOM does, it could be pretty damaging for the community. Similarly, it could alter the dynamics of the way the Korean scene operates. We're very fortunate at present that players like MC, MMA, DRG, etc all get out and about relatively regularly to foreigner tournaments. It would be a very bad thing for the foreign eSports community if that changed due to the introduction of more high profile leagues in Korea. On the other hand it could turn out to be awesome and the dawn of a golden era for SC2 as an eSport, but I would say that's far from a guarantee at this point. I hope that if this comes to pass it doesn't change things too much - as I'd honestly rather just retain the status quo than have both the foreigner scene and community getting shunned compared to how we are treated now.

I hope organizations like MLG have good relations with KeSPA in order to foster growth outside of Korea.
