Community polls are cute, but it doesn't cost them anything. If I offered them $100,000.00 to neglect the poll results, they'd do it. They "sponsor" events, in the form of giving GOM a contract and collecting money. They don't "sponsor" events like Dr. Pepper sponsors MLG. Blizzcon was canceled (was that this year?), but normally it's the worlds best marketing toy, and it earns them money. We wait years for SC2 and Diablo 3 because a finished product sells more copies. They don't care about you, stop pretending they're Jesus, Inc. They care about money. It's not fucking shocking, they are a capitalist business. They're supposed to care about money. so what you're saying is that Blizzard is evil because Riot Games puts more emphasis on their community? oh right, I forgot that there can only be one company in the world who can care about the community it's also important to note that riot games is a non-profit altruistic company right? making money is nowhere in their agenda and all they want to do is cherish the community right.. There is no company in the world who doesn't have money in their agenda, and while some companies have a questionable approach. Blizzard is by no means an evil company who ignores their community, and definitely puts more emphasis on the community of their games, as well as outside of their games than A LOT of companies out there. http://www.vivendi.com/vivendi/Employees-involvment you're just an angry person that doesn't understand how a company functions and is 'happy' with one company. And if no other company does the same then they are immediately evil.

And also, I would like to say that I think that this is the better way to do it. Having teams compete all at the same time rather than have individual players slowly leak through to Starcraft 2 like Zergbong(Nestea) and ForGG(Fin)

About Blizzcon, they're still holding their yearly huge tournament so I don't get what you're complaining about. And about them not getting involved and not caring about "me"...do you not see all the GSL maps getting put in? What you posted seems silly to me.

Yeah, I remember that everyone in the HoN community used to laugh at LoL for buying themselves into DreamHack and stuff, but now they probably don't even need to buy in, because the streams get so much viewers that tourneys realize that they need to have a LoL tourney. I wish that HoN had such amazing marketing. Anyway i hope DotA2 will do well, Valve is a much better company then S2 Games.

KeSPA is a sort of temptress that I don't trust around Blizzard. who says money and "morals and ethics" have to be conflicting motives? with an ethical monetary system in place money is the root of all good. with the current voodoo money system in place in hte USA money is at least sometimes the root of all good. so your comment "money, not morals, not ethics" does not mean much. Blizzard is a good company that cares about both morals and money. those pieces of paper in your wallet are your statement of hope that your fellow man honours the willingness to trade the product of his effort.. for the product of your effort... your money.

How can you expect esports to be taken seriously, when a game can be replaced on a whim, regardless of its history, or cultural impact. How can esports be taken seriously when a culturally significant game can be replaced by a vaguely related game just because it happens to be set in the same universe and have 2 at the end of its name.

Pierce stated Starcraft2 was part of a 10 year eSports plan. so i expect its "eSports life cycle" to be about 10 years. i'm satisfied with that.
