Might change it to something for starcraft sometime, but I'm not sure what I would consistently use it for. Maybe a camera hotkey, but I'm already so used to using the F keys for that. Maybe 0 so I can ctrl + button 4/5 for an accessible hotkey for drops or something.

The only thing that sucks about it, is now when I'm at a buddies house I cant play if his mouse doesn't have those buttons, since it's just too ingrained in me to use those to macro now >.<

I was skeptical at first but it really is nice now that I'm used to it, and it never interferes with my mouse movement at all. Problem is all my friends play consoles... It's handy for switching between my laptop/desktop though... This darkgrid setup sounds interesting, I was thinking that bases/production shouldn't interfere with accuracy at all. I'm thinking setting my thumb buttons to 7-0 for Nexus/Robo/Stargate/Whatever.

what most people do afaik is learn the default hotkeys and then slowly and slightly edit specific things to other keys just for comforts sake i doubt u will find a pro gamer who uses their mouse for anything other than the left and rick click. this is not an MMO, this is an RTS, and your gonna have to learn to start from the bottom of the totem pole if you wanna be serious with this. best of luck to you, i hope you enjoy sc2 ![]()

shift and control in sc2 for making groups/ camera locations. in other games (fps, rpg whatever) i use the shift for running and control for crouching and backspace for lying down, so my hand never has to move much.

IMO it's not a gimmick, i've just moved the ctrl and shift keys from one place to another.

You may be able to use mouse buttons / razer naga's in WoW because mouse accuracy doesn't really matter, but in high level sc2 it is everything and pressing buttons with your mouse fingers will reduce your accuracy. Even if it's by a small amount .
