sweet, looks to be decent

No group replay viewing :/ Biggest missing feature atm imo.

No clan support but good progress is made to the UI, I do like this.

step in the right direction but i feel like they will have to do more than that to make the game more interesting for those who stopped playing it or for new people

All anti-aliasing is just a multiplier for all your pixels are screen. So 1440x900 X2 MSAA is just forcing your graphics card to produce two times more pixels to create a softer image.
What the hell? No it's not at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spatial_anti-aliasing

your card can't make more pixels, it can mix colors so that it looks blurred and softer...afaik
y wiki says same as me, black/white contrat is made gray so that it looks softer, your display can't show more pixels...

Off-topic, let's stop. Ok?

Yeah but the meat of anti-aliasing is the part where it interpolates and then down samples, not the part where it just doubles the pixels rendered.

I wonder what they mean by streaming support? :O
|
TIL that the "streaming" features have nothing to do with tournament streams or anything similar.
Just to clarify, the streaming support refers to the technology of having the client already usable before all of the content of the game is downloaded. Basically you download core content and are ready to play while the rest of the content is being downloaded in the background. This is mainly interesting for players that use the Starter Edition to test the game. They won't have to wait for a long time before diving in.

I guess the communication system is a movement in the right direction.. a little bit late, but better late than never -_- This post made me lol.

Anyone notice that they trademarked "soon" ? That's pretty funny

Pretty much this, guess for those of us who are more focused on the casual features I guess. Though decent customs would make it a lot easier to practice certain matchups when none of your practice partners are online.

What you're referring to is FSAA, or "full-screen anti-aliasing." MSAA refers to a class of techniques where some surface properties are sampled only once per pixel. There are other anti-aliasing mechanisms, commonly used in offline rendering, that only increase the sample density at object edges or pixels that contain high-contrast edges, but you don't see those very much in video cards because it's simpler to implement the brute-force techniques. Also, there may be constraints on such implementations that I'm not aware of that make those approaches less desirable in real time.
The goal isn't to create a softer image, it's to correctly choose pixel values where objects have partial pixel coverage or pixels include high contrast edges.
Edit: It's not at all off-topic, considering that a large chunk of Dustin Browder's blog post spoke about adding anti-aliasing features to the game.

Oh look, the patch we've been asking for for the last 2 years is finally coming.
|
A big step in the right direction, of a very long road.
I would love to have the bnet tournament feature, even if I have to pay for it.
Shut up and take my money Blizzard.

This is great. I am really psyched, REALLY psyched that they are mentioning how the community says that SC2 feels empty. And especially that these "are not major changes" :DD
Probably means the major ones are coming later on YESSSSSSSS
