I don't think this means HOTS is delayed at all.
Blizzard with their games typically releases major patches and revamping in preparation for a ton of content changing soon, so they tend to sort of spread it out.

That being said I don't necessarily think that this means it's very close either, because there hasn't been a beta or anything.

Its ridicously that they are adding soem of this stuff just now. Antialiasing almost 3 years after release?

Instead of thinking up new ways to solve the custom maps problem, that will probably fail anyways, why haven't they reverted to battlenet 1's system that worked?

I'm interested in local IP. Seems interesting.

though I'm excited for this patch.

anti-aliasing means that the colors between contrasts are mixed, so that a diagonal line for example don't looks like lego or shit. it looks smoother, if yoü wanted to know what it is.

This is really nice, I just hope its not too late. A lot of the casuals who imo have stopped playing ladder and tried to go to custom games probably stopped playing all together by now. And most of the people playing ladder now are 95% focused on ladder/melee and won't be switching over in the near future.

You don't know what antialiasing means or you don't know, what the change means?

They're adding the support for AA into the options, up until now, it had be forced from the control panel of your graphic card. I'm sure you can google the rest.

I'm gonna say about 3 months or so based on their past announcement:release dates. By that time they can work on some actual balance stuff too.

As I understand it, no. I think it only means that you'll have an new option when searching for a game to tell battle.net to match you to people near you. So this seems to be only a new metric to match player, but I don't think it involves any change to the way the network code works.

Basically, this is to make the game more "social" by making you play people in your region.
