those terrans who are mad at blizz remember that terran has never been under 50% winrate in the tvz matchup. there is still marauders against ultralisks and vikings against broodlords. With this in mind terran needs to learn to scout in the late game and choose either one of those units instead of just massing out on ghosts.

Personally I think the Snipe Change is a little too dramatic but I'll have to wait and see.

Other changes I guess are ok, but now I feel as though Gold bases are actually disadvantageous for Terrans in general because we cannot use our macro mechanic on it while meanwhile the other two races can continue to use their increased worker production to benefit.

I dunno. I think Removing Gold bases completely would make better sense.

I already felt like holding an ultra of BL push with infestors also was more difficult for Terran. I mean to snipe you can't micro anything else, and if you are sniping over 100 times to kill the pack of BL or Ultra then the zerg can be microing his other units. I feel now with having to snipe around 200 times I will not be able to beat zerg armies without lucky nukes. I mean I feel like I will have to play like a GSL player to hold of zerg strategies that require little micro beyond an A-click. The re-max on ultra really really hurts if you have any vikings whatsoever. I honestly based my entire game around late game ghost play and with snipe APM consistently 500+ and good positioning, an ultra/baneling army or ultra roach/ling is extremely effective against a ghost heavy player.
What is evil but good tortured by it's own hunger and thirst?

Ah yes. Because certain aspects of T in the past might have been OP, T should now be nerfed into the ground so the other races can catch up on the prizemoney. That's a concept of gamebalance I'm sure we can all get behind.


Not to mention all of that prize money was won by a few players, namely Puma who was just a big fish in a small pond in the NASLs/Dreamhacks, MVP and MMA who are almost universally regarded as the best players regardless of race (MVP's Zerg is beastly, btw).

One could argue that guys like MKP and Polt wouldn't be as strong, but that's a totally weak argument that can't be supported by anything empirical or otherwise.

i think the nerf to snipe wouldve been better if it was 45, 35 vs massive or something. the fact that it takes 2 shots to kill a baneling or zergling is kinda silly

I never realized how expensive the Fleet Beacon was. It's probably because when I do get that building, I am usually on a ton of bases and in an advantageous position that 300/200 is pretty trivial at that point.

IMO, a better change is making that range upgrade just +1 (5) and Fleet Beacon a bit cheaper.

I don't agree with the ghost change at all as TvZ already felt like a race against time and ghosts had a huge role in giving terrans a late game chance to win. I guess it's time to stop playing random and just manually choose between P and Z.

Bringing back the Classic APM is good.

Does snipe take Armor+Shield into consideration? If not so it is actually a buff against toss as ghosts will snipe Zealots in 3 shot instead of 4. Other than that, I think it is a good change to otherwise very balanced TvZ.
As for the CPM/APM, more options are always welcome, but I think the CPM is not an accurate measurement tool compared to SC2Gears EAPM.
The Phoenix change is very interesting and while it helps vs mass Mutas it does require skill to pull off and it is a step in the right direction. It will be interesting how this will rebound in other directions (viable late game stargate play in PvP?? PvT Stargate play??)
The MULE change is necessary for ladder, much less for tournaments where they no longer use gold patches (at least not in the GSL)

yeah, maybe pros can deal with this...but how about casual players? terran again nerfed. :/
looking at terran distribution they are least played race already. bad move blizzard, trying to balance a game against casual players.

As the line is a moving average. Look at the bars for January


The only reason terran isn't on top in the "summary" is because zerg has a whopping 60% winratio vs toss. If you look closely you'll see that in reality, terran still has a higher winratio vs both zerg and toss.

I'm curious why snipe was even nerfed so hard when late game TvZ favors zerg so much.. doesn't really make sense.

I did think ghosts in TvZ late-game presented an unfavorable scenario however. Yeah those were all people that made threats on the forum and then changed their race out of an act of spite. I didn't say nobody would change their race in response to a patch ever, I just think that people that feel the need to use possibly changing as leverage are not necessarily more likely to change. Your two data points are quite meaningless anyway, it just seems to indicate (need more detailed stats though) that race distribution isn't static (amazing discovery that).


there are plenty more "data points" if you could be bothered to use the drop down box. Every patch since 1.3.0 has had a reduction in the number of people playing Terran from the last patch in every league except Bronze and GM.

If it wasn't for the fact Morrow totally lucked out with two nukes on Broodlords up to that point the game would never have reached 41 minutes. It's a bit easier to make a few ghosts and get nuke and cloak than to get mass ravens and the upgrades.

Zealots aren't psionic. So right now, it takes 7 snipes to take out one zealot.

Interesting changes to say the least. Now 2 snipes to kill infestors instead of 3 (of course, you could kill with 2, but they would have to be at the same instant). The MULE change is a welcome Terran nerf and the phoenix change may open up some things for late game PvT (as in, you might be able to actually attack a viking without being 100% on top of the marines), aside for the obvious PvZ application.
