I really feel blizzard knows that we hate b.net 2.0 but they will only change it bit by bit with the expansions they announced to make us keep buying the game.

Custom games in my opinion is the worst issue. I bought WC3 almost exclusivly for the custom games. I didn't like ladder, but I enjoyed playing customs, especially more unpopular/unknown rpgs and stuff like that. That can't be done in SC2. Nothing past page 3 get played. Custom games in SC2 have been a huge dissapointment; even if they reverted to WC3 system (10 years ago) I would be very happy. @Kingsky, yes. And there are topics about it. See the topic called "I am so, so dissapointed". There was also a topic posted with this topic's contents. It used to be on "Popular Topics", but maxed out.

I would like to see the community aspect of Battle.net reinforced. It’s so lonely regardless of whether you win or lose. There’s nowhere to communicate. Only when there is a place for gamers to gather and communicate, they will continue to play so the fact that Battle.net is like a console game in that regard disappoints me." Should be added to the OP?.

Maybe after SC2: LotV something of that will be implemented, but Blizzard developers are very lazy to do really good things.

For example in Inside the Game episode that aired 2012-03-06 Painuser, Machine and Incontrol gave critisism regarding chat & shared replay viewing (question starts 1:31:10): http://blip.tv/insidethegame/episode-6037316 If somebody finds similar interviews where progamers criticize Bnet UI features it would be good to link them here. Even more imbarassing, Dustin Browder who made the quote "you won't want LAN" is in the crowd with them chanting "We Want LAN" This is like Jaedong vs Flash NATE MSL finals, except its Blizzard's fault.

In Dota 2, having a disconnect in a game is more common than not having one, so we just pause and wait for the d/c'd person to reconnect and continue play from where we dropped off. I understand why "lagging out" would be necessary on ladder games, particularly team games, but why custom 1v1 games?

And you could ALSO use it for plain old computer crashes and whatnot. Boom, someone hacked this in already: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=328785 Not quite a shared replay, but resuming works beautifully. Make sure when you restart the map your spawn positions are the same or it crashes right now.

Now imagine there is shared replay viewing, and you are looking with your mate. You pause the replay right before a huge 200/200 battle and you go; "Damn, this is where I lost the game, we had even macro but my 200 army control is just so bad" Imagine now there is a button, while viewing a replay together on b.net, that says "Assume control of game". And now the replay pauses and you and your mate can choose which player to control, set up hotkeys etc, and just start the game from there. God fucking damn that would be SO SWEET.

Even if we don't succeed at least we have a place to rant about it. ![]() totally agree with you it just feels lifeless..
