I really don't think that there is anyone who thinks that Incontrol is in the team for his playing abilities, so I guess you're right. But I think the thread isn't about him so, I'll leave it at that ![]()

I understand what you mean about sticking to topic, but if NA's teams are going to compete with Koreans, they need to devote all their resources to promising players. Players who are grandfathered into a team/community are nice and all, but are also a drainage on resources that could be better allocated elsewhere. Just saying.

Incontrol and Machine not in the same category (IMO), both have performed much better than those others. Incontrol gets panned for underperforming, but he's going okay compared to other 2nd rung foreigners (eg: not Huk, idra, Stephano and naniwa). Machine seems to get better at nearly every tournament, he is a good player too.

With team houses as mini-companies, everyone has to somehow contribute to the bottom line, or support the employees(for EG house Anna Prosser in this case). When I watch MLG, GSL, and many of the bigger tourneys, I see these names: - Huk - IdrA - Puma and maybe I'm living in a fish barrel, but I don't really see the names of these other guys pop out as prominently as the the biggest names. It worries me that lesser known and arguably players with lesser success...if they don't win tourneys or at least make it to the top 4, how EG management justifies their name on the payroll. Just guessing but maybe the lesser known players earn their keep through coaching, streaming and possibly team promotion. Still, I feel nervous for Machine and company

At some point you have to earn your keep It's funny because Tyler while underperforming still had much better all round results in almost every tournament tyler and the two departing players have entered in??? I'm not really sure that TL would get rid of Tyler, as we all know he has the talent and potential to become one of the best in the RTS scene as long as he puts a lot of effort into it like BW. I'm not sure about what the "keep"/salary was for all 3 players but I think EG are capable (with the finances they have) of building a much stronger team and you can say a lot of other TL players have had lacking results this year (not only Tyler imo).

Before they bought a bunch of Koreans/Huk they were the ones actually getting wins in team leagues, etc. And not doing too bad for themselves in MLG open brackets. I hope they get new teams if they want to continue to be players, but they got almost no exposure from EG so we'll see. I think they are hugely undervalued as NA players I think the thing is that most of the NA players are undervalued or not valued at all, could be because the lack of tournaments and online cups that Koreans and the whole EU scene has, therefore giving people absolutely no chances to prove their worth. I honestly can't name a single NA player that stands out as someone special to keep an eye out. (Ofc, not counting any of these Selects, Idras, Huks and etc.).

The truth is that Tyler usually finishes at the spot that he's seeded in, not advancing further in any tournaments. Wins a set or two if lucky with brackets, but that's about it. Sad as it is, I'd really would like to see him do well. Such a nice guy. =/

I think they are hugely undervalued as NA players Obviously they've put a lot of effort into winning matches and stuff for EG but they had almost little or no international success at all and that is why such a big company like EG might have made such a decision. They weren't "pillars of the community" or popular at all for streaming or coaching... it's still sad to see them go of course, but normally you want the players to give exposure to the team instead of vice versa. Obviously, you can say that giving exposure to a player would be great but they have nothing to back the exposure up with imo. No results, no place as someone else in the thread said.
