Yeah - I'm sure Telenil can donate some of that fat modding cash to his friend :p

Why is this on HotS forum? Shouldn't it be on SC2 General ? Or Custom maps, even.

Legends say the forum showpart=45 was once dedicated to single player, though few ever made their ways to this remote place. When the HotS beta started, the forum was renamed "Heart of the Swarm" and hundreds upon hundreds of beta threads landed over the ruins of campaign discussions. This thread is a relic of this heroic times where the swarm host and mothership core were but whispers among the community.

Yep, some of us actually give a shit about the single player! (If only Blizzard did too!)

Well, not terribly but definitely had some flaws with that story and presentation of it.

Hi i just got the mods and maps and all that installed, i am able to play just fine, the only problem i am having is with the sound. As far as i can tell its the unit sounds like when they are attacking, moving, or when i select the units there is no sound. any thoughts on how i can fix this?
|
Nevermind i got it fixed :p

Wow, great series! I was really surprised when the zerg attacked me in Rebel Yell 01 and 02, didn't happen in the original. Then I was like, OH! hard mode! DUH! Posted a glitch/bug notice onThe Iron Fist page for that installment. The Dylarian Shipyards was always my favorite mission.
Anybody know why the dialog boxes on the loader stretch to off screen? Rebel Yell and Queen of Blades both don't quite fit. my monitor is 1600x900.

Welcome to the next level BW experience, guys.
OceanFlex, I replied to your post. As to why the dialogs stretch off screen - an amateurish oversight from my part. Eugh. Should be easily fixed by changing some coordinates. Give it a try if it bothers you enough, is what I'm saying. The launcher needed updating either way, but it'll be a while. Thanks for the info, though.

Hi guys, first of all, congratulations for your magnificient work!!
I've a problem. The one written in the second point of FAQs. I followed what is written in there but with no success. I still have the problem "Unable to launch Map" when I launch the test from the editor. I have the Italian version of the game, 1.4.3, I downloaded both Italian and English mod and maps and tried both but nothing, I tried to click on "recent files" links and "download" button as indicated in faqs but I still got the problem. The files are in the right place, "SC1BWmod.SC2Mod" in "Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Mods", the first campaing 1.Rebel Yell and the launcher in "Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Maps". I click on the launcher, then ctrl+f9 to launch the test and then I run always in the same problem...."unable to launch map" What can I do? =/
Thanks in advance!

Is there any reason why this can't be accessed through the arcade?

Ah. The FAQ is... way out of date, sorry about that. I'm pretty sure the launcher won't work with 1.4.3. Neither do the latest (English) versions of the maps/mod. The translated versions are somewhat outdated though so the Italian version should work - you'll just need to play without the launcher. Try the test document-thing with any of the Rebel Yell maps.
I added this info to the downloads section. Should've done that a while ago...

Yeah, a bunch of reasons.

Yeah, a bunch of reasons. Can you give a few? Map size too large due to sound files? Can't combine maps to make a campaign? Correct. Although almost all of our maps are smaller than 20Mo, each account can only have ~200 Mo of maps uploaded on Battle.net at any given time. The total size of all maps and mods is over 600 Mo, so we would have to split them between us and it would be extremely complicated to update the maps, especially if one of the uploaders stops playing. There is also the question of the translation: the maps could theoretically be subtitled in multiple languages, as the game checks the version of SC2 you are using and automatically selects the appropriate text, but there is nothing you can do for the sounds except uploading 600 extra Mo per language.
