Something like this was bound to happen. They would not just let 50-something players drop out without doing anything. For the SC2 community to speculate how much time BW has left and act like flash already switched over just irritates BW fans. | ||

Some BW fans even say it. I mean, you can't be a consistent proleague monster, league finalist, and 1 time OSL champion (3-0ing) Stork just by being someone's puppet. | ||

I was initially following that common presumption that he is a puppet but realistically speaking he isn't really a puppet more like he is inspired by iloveoov after all . When you have a Grand Master Terran like iloveoov who significantly played mech zerg and economic builds coaching you . You will definitely be influenced by him , Fantasy is a iloveoov 2.0 although he is still has so much to learn. | ||

I 4 pooled and totally owned this guy. That game is SO easy, I should just get my pro-gamer license and become the next bonjwa, because the game is so easy. People are actually arguing that some people can't enjoy a joke about Starcraft because they aren't cool enough and because they didn't know Brood War back in the day. You actually just hipstered e-sports, which is just disappointing. I am excited for the prospect of BW Teams playing SC2, and I am also melancholy that Brood War must take a hit from this, but I disparage neither of the sides. I have no idea why cliques must immediately arise in situations like this. Can we not all just get pumped that some players are getting a new battlefield to test their skills? More starcraft no matter the version is ALWAYS a good thing. | ||

More starcraft no matter the version is ALWAYS a good thing. 4pool is a cheese , Chrono boost makes macro essentially easy for protoss . I don't know about elitist thing you talking about , If you bothered to look at the thread I posted from alffla , he did a good job on the topic .You should look about it , Personally after playing bw for so long , to give sc2 a try and see my probe and zealot and other units are building much more faster on chrono boost . That put's a smirk on my face , protoss should be a macro monster having them access to such easy mechanics.. Well since you said it yourself , you only played bw once . It's hard for me to take your view into account seriously after all I was not mentioning that sc2 is relatively on a easier term however you guys got access to so much comfortable macro mechanics . Macro shouldn't be an issue at all for sc2. Micro on the other hand that's another thing. On the other hand I had fun playing sc2 casually with friends so don't take me wrong that I am a total elitist , Bw is my main game and Sc2 maybe just to past time . | ||

Well New contracts have recently been signed, all we know is that they are multi-year, and due to the fact KESPA themselves is paying for a team for the meantime means it is likely more than two years. thus the 3 year minimum. now KESPA is viewing this 8th team as an investment, they will pay for them until a sponsor picks them up which no doubt could happen at any time as BW is huge in Korea and many companies would look to the exposure to young koreans that BW sponsorships bring. Now if a new company were to enter into the BW scene, then contracts could easily be renewed, as the currently player base will not retire from BW as long as they have an income and reason to play BW over SC2 or go to college ect. the fact that in the player auction many of the younger players were taken in, points to the sponsors and team managers seeing the game in the long picture, that BW will last long enough for these young players to become greats. this gives reasoning to assume that contracts will be renewed at least once, and with stars of teams usually being on multi-year contracts this points to a timeframe between 5 and 6 years at MINIMUM for teams to begin to re-evaluate their position and decide if they should be investing in BW at that point. now if things continue as they have been this past year, i feel that would be the end of BW, but if the sport bounces back as it seems to be doing given recent news, then it could go on from that 5-6 year estimate though likely on a year to year basis. Now add to this the introduction of SC2 to Proleague and you see an influx of foreign revenue and fans to advertise to, more global sponsorships to be given to KESPA teams which would only continue to help BW last. as long as SC2 BW are run together in proleague (but not mixed like 2v2's used to be) then there would be no reason to cease funding to half of the team when half of the team is advertising to korea and the other half to the world. and the only big news, the creation of the 8th team, starring Jaedong the tyrant, no longer being seen as the atlas to hold up the rest of his team he will be able to rest and take turns as the Ace giving him less stress and elongating his career (Flash having another strong terran under him will do the same now as well) not only this but KESPA's own team picked up Baby, a player often seen as a strong terran, who is slowly cleaning up his own weaknesses, could turn out to be a great. KESPA wouldnt' bring baby in unless trying to make a statement to korean businesses that this team is strong, will be seen and talked about often, and is something to look forward to for years. all in all, BW is not going anywhere anytime soon, unless some terrible terrible decisions are made by kespa, which is possible but unlikely. the biggest and most likely cause for failure of BW to continue would be that the 8th team never picks up a sponsorship and KESPA is stuck with a sunk cost that will slowly drain them from BW. | ||
