I haven't seen them discussed much but a couple of the maps seem interesting. Especially the second one (it may supposed to be the third, there's a failed image at the start, I'm referring to the one with the grey/metallic tile set), looks like it could be a very good map with cross positions. Knowing blizzard there will close close positions too though, which may not be too bad at the 9/12 and 3/6 positions but would look horrible at the 6/9 and 3/12 spawns.
Imagine tanks sieged on the high ground at the 7:30/1:30 third positions next to the natural, but then there is a neat counter attack option through the middle, with a the positioning of the ramp into the main as well it could be a very interesting map
The others are so and so, the third with the grass-y tile set looks like a xelnaga caverns sort-of sized 2 player map (which I like, I don't want ALL 4 player maps), and the centre looks really cool. Bushes in the middle, with high ground on either side protected by rocks, looks like a great place to siege, but has no protection from counter attacks around the 3rds, which are spottable by the xelnaga towers
Not sure on my opinions of the first one with the blue-ish nerazim-crypt tile set, very very open, and the third, while very close to you, is open and placed awkwardly in relation to the ramp to the natural. In terms of main/natural/third it looks like Shakuras without the option of expanding the other mains/natural, instead only the 'pocket' expo.
Good variety it looks like, at first glance I like them

Protoss is buttfucked with HoTS.
How are you able to Mass recall with your Nexus when you must spend every Energy on fucking Chrono boosts in order to not get behind in tech and economy. That stupid Shield Ability is probably only usefull for preventing 6 pools with standart openings and won't solve PEW PEW Medivac drops which kills tech buildings faster than reavers in bw.
Zerg and Terrans gets cool new stuff while shitty Protoss units getting replaced by another weirdo units.....
I would be shocked if mass recall would be available for anything less than a full nexus energy. It's really a strong ability if the current hype is to come true. Basically you build up your nexus energy when you move out and you can avoid sticky situation at no cost. Late game this ability can be abused at full potential. I would love it to stay as it sounds despite it being too much like "scroll of town portal", but I also remember everyone bitched about the scroll of town portal being a get-out-of-jail-free card in WC3, and it ended up being nerfed in various ways.
Overall the new units/abilities for toss feel quite WC3-esque. Actually all 3 races new abilities/units are WC3 like.
Tempest is a TERRIBLE unit. Protoss can already beat mass-muta with blink, storm and archons.
Two of this units are ground-shooting units. Did you think about harrass possibilities with viper-cloud+massmuta? Cloud-thingy would pretty much negate big numbers of shooting ground units vs big number of shooting mutas (in low numbers micro has upperhand in battle imho). Thats where the Tempest possibly kicks in. I have to admit to have no info is cloud has any influence on air-to-ground range
With all this critique in this thread i somewhat miss missing connections between _all_ units. I dont think the developers came up with some crazy, drug abuse delirium-born ideas without ANY clue of interconnections between existing units and abilities. I pretty much think they have good reasons including sth. The only thing is left for me is waiting and keeping a close eye on teh matters when beta kicks in.

So basically the unit is made to deal with these clumps of 50 Mutalisks that we so often (???) see in pro games. If the opponent is going the 50 mutas build on you, you best start building the fleet beacon.
As for the shredder, I really don't see how zerg can deal with it efficiently. Just drop it in the mineral line, possibly with some marines and it will take out all zerglings that comes to reinforce as well as all the drones.
There may be two shredders in the video but their fields cannot overlap, so the damage would be the same if it was just one.
@ Shredder
It has to burrow first to even attack, so they could just extend the burrow time a bit, and it is unable to activate if friendly units are nearby.
Well, if the opponents units are close by you won't drop to begin with. It's just that a drop with a shredder and marine support in the back will be very hard to deal with.
I believe it's friendly units, not the opponent's that cause it to not activate. So you probably can't have marines behind it as that would cause it to not fire. Dunno the exact radius on that though.
With behind it I mean behind the actual field, so it still activates.
@ 1:30
Dunno, looks like a decent radius size. Don't think they'll even be able to shoot.
They are more for control, kill the few drones that manage to get away, kill some spawning pool etc. The Shredder in itself should be extremely good for drops.

Can anyone explains how it actually works? I'm having a hard time seeing how it's useful... unless the locusts are immune to splash damage they'll just be siege-tank fodder.
If it only spawns 2 units every 15 seconds that deals 16 damage, it's way, way worse than the brood lord, or am I missing something?
Its just retarded seriously, everyone thinks its the lurker but it isnt.
it was never meant to be a lurker and i wish ppl would get off the lurker whine quite honestly.
Well its pretty much the Lurker in a different fashion. The lurker basically is siegelike spacecontrol unit and imho the swarmhost is supposed to be fitting that role. Not sure if it does in its current state, but i think you can see the direction in which the unit is heading imho. Its definitely not wrong to compare it to the lurker.

It can replicate a ghost, cloak and then emp enemy ghosts. We will just have to wait and see how good this unit actually is.

That depends if the Replicator even gets enough energy to do that, and anyway, if someone balls up their Ghosts like that, they deserve to lose.
I don't see how they could make movable burrowed banelings balanced. I don't mind to have a detector with my army to avoid my marines melting to a couple of banes, but having to build a million turrets at your base just to prevent 2 banes (100/50 cost !) to wipe out your entire mineral line seems kind of overboard.
Limiting the burrow movement to only on creep might be a solution i don't know.

'New' units:
Facelifted firebat (battle helion).
Facelifted goliath (war hound).
Facelifted defiler that can fly now.
Facelifted corsair.
Facelifted vulture or at least its mine mechanics.
Strange, new concept of lurker.
Isn't it funny how what people have been complaining about not having is broodwar style units?
I did not complain about anything, mate. They just threw that in our faces and I am just stating the obvious - lack of creativity.
I hope we see development and those abominations won't be like this when the game hits the shelves, because they will prove that there can't be nothing better than BW balance

I don't think it is bullshit, I can't imagine getting my infestors copied and get fungal'd while colossus beaming on my units
