no it wont. because u just spent 600 minerals 200 gas to make a CC or a hatchery ALONE. and if the replicated drone/scv dies or the CC/hatchery gets sniped once its done building then that is money wasted. just build a nexus for the 400...

Wowwww. All the units seem pretty intresting and well designed. They seem to really give the races alot more flair. My only concern is too many units (But they seemed to work around that by replacing some of the terran factory units it seems.

Yeah, but you can get an extra race's units!

the warhound seems overpowered. the warhound is basically stalkers that dont suck, or better yet warhounds are like marauders that can attack air
stat for stat, thors have always been "overpowered". the only thing making thors not overpowered is the fact that zealots do OK against them and immortal/VR are good against thors and ling/roach can swarm thors with zergs macro advantages
but anyway, thors themselves actually have pretty overpowered stats. 1 thor kills 3 zealots or stalkers easy and both are 6food
thors actually CRUSH 3stalkers. completely CRUSH.
and from what it looks like, warhounds are balanced to have equal POWER PER FOOD of the thor. meaning warhounds are still just as overpowered as the thor, but now probably move faster as well
warhounds are basically stalkers that dont suck. thors were balanced because they were SO SLOW meaning their overpowered stats were justified. about these warounds... i dont know...

you could do the same with infestors in WoL but it doesn't happen very often. I don't expect a replicator will get the chance very often either.

Idk, they seem fine to me. They appear to have all the old counters of the Thor, take time out of tank production (I'm assuming they're tech lab tech) in TvT and Z, and still be pretty damn slow.

Yeah, neither do I, but it's a funny niche.

Clone thingie being expensive is BS. If I go all the pain of building it and getting a good unit of the enemy, I really want it to be a bargain. Not just cute. It's not like it destroys the enemy unit anyway.

replicants can safely clone a enemy worker from across the map, in the safety of its own base, and then start making new tech
infestors must get into the front lines and clonse a enemy worker and then run that worker away to build new tech. its MUCH HARDER
if infestors has a ability that said "sacrifice 2 infestors, this gives you a scv or probe which you can build tech with" i garuntee it would be used ALOT and it would be overpowered. this would cost 200/300
replicants are 200/200 and let a protoss steal a scv or probe and make new tech units
heck, protoss will be able to mass collossi WITH MARINES now. holy crap. all toss needs is some defense and he can replicate a SCV and then make a CC and some barracks and start massing marines with his zealots/collossi
LOL. think about it protoss. YOU NOW HAVE MARINES in the lategame. LOL

I can see the anti-mechanical bonus being an issue PvT(hard counter most of our ground units, the only exceptions being templar, archons, and zealots, which ghosts take care of), but I'm not terribly worried. Alpha is alpha, afterall.

can the oracle phase out bunkers for like a gateway push (phase bunkers out, kill terran army, then kill bunkers after rest of army is killed)

as a bw player that was hoping the new expansion units would make the game more exciting, i dont have my hopes up.
the new zerg units definitely seem like an improvement from what there is now, although not nearly as many drastic changes as I wanted. I don't understand all the comparisons of swarm host to lurker. yea they both burrow to attack but swarm host isn't AoE and (i havent seen it in action yet so i dunno) doesnt seem to be able to hold ground at all like a lurker can. seems like much more of an offensive unit than a defensive unit. viper as described seems like one of the coolest spellcasters in all of sc2 (would love for the detection parasite thing to also be castable on enemies ala parasite from BW, but basically parasite with detection).
the new terran units seem OK i guess. i dont really follow sc2 so im not sure how changing thors to weaker goliaths will change much (were thors like really shitty?) the other new additions (new hellion mode and shredder) is finally giving terran melee units basically, which is great that they now have a little variety in the way their units attack (i think it will improve the gameplay at least, based off of descriptions).
the new protoss units are pretty lame. replicant is so un-protossey and gimmicky sounding. protoss are supposed to be the race of really strong units but small in numbers. why the fuck do they want to copy other races? the tempest and oracle dont seem like more exciting units than the mothership and carrier (which werent great to begin with). Protoss needs a cool strong spellcaster like the arbitor, not a unit with a bunch of old overseer spells :\. tempest seems just like a really straightforward unit which isnt very interesting (which is what SC2 needs more if IMO) :\.
IMO the expansions need to introduce new abilities/units that really make the battles more interesting (IE units/spells that act a lot differently than the ones in the game now and change the dynamics of the battles more) and make the game flow at a more interesting pace, but most of these additions dont seem like they will address that problem very much. the viper seems like by far the most interesting new addition as the new cloud ability seems like it will finally let zerg control a small space defensively (IE use it to hold a choke and be able to expand with minimal units such as dark swarm). although it seems really weird having zerg's only 2 spellcasters at tier 2. might as well move the infestor to tier 3 and make it stronger or something. idunno maybe not more powerful,. but infestor sorta seems redundant now.
yea hopefully a lot of the dumb stuff changes by the time it comes out (which judging by sc2 beta, probably won't happen), and maybe ill buy hots and try sc2 again.

moving banelings. what the hell blizzard.

But this time you have buffed up firebats to destroy chargelots. Looks like it's going to be like...archon/immortal as the composition you have to go.

yeah but don't you see? it's merely an option. Protoss has been complaining about not being flexible enough, the replicator is the perfect example of blizzard listening to it's community without ruining the identity of the race.
It's possible there may be negative side effects like terrans being too scared to make siege tanks in TvP. Or Zerg not making infestors in ZvP. I know blizzard wants every unit to be viable in every match up, but I know protoss out there love the idea of negating infestors without actually having to. The replicator is really going to become a metagame thing imo, because toss might make replicators a lot in the beta(like how we saw with colossi in WoL beta) then people will get so used to them that they auto prepare for them by not making the cost efficient units that the replicator is good with.

Does anyone know if an oracle phases out a hatchery if the zerg can still produce larvae. If not, 45 seconds is a long time for the zerg to not be making anything. And it gets even better if they cannot return minerals to that hatch either.
Another question, is there any use at all for the preordain ability on the oracle. I mean, even a bronze level player should be able to tell what unit comp to expect based on the tech buildings he sees when he flies over the base to cast the ability. And pros will be able to guess based on timings or other factors. This ability just seems useless, and could be replaced with something better.

lol. so many people missed the mechwarrior reference.
honestly i think if they put in a uziel it would suit terran quite nicely.
