Is it just me or does this look like some dumb shit? I think I can see Dustin Browder's C&C influence infiltrating the game. All these units seem to be flashy, corny, cheesy units!!! I mean come on a transformer hellion WTF!!!! They should just keep things simple and straight forward.
And what the fuck is going on with the storyline it seem like its evolving into a Star Wars fan fiction. Kerrigan use the force!!!!
I just hope this game some what resembles WoL and especially BW and SCI. I just think they should focus on solid game play for that "wow" factor; rather than making bullshit snazzy units to make the game interesting. AS you can see I'm not very optimistic.

If anything, the units revealed here would make the game more like BW.
Warhound - Goliath with splash Shredder - Spider Mine you build at a factory Battle Hellion - Robot Firebat Tempest - Corsair with ground attack Viper - Corsair with death grip Swarm Host - Lurker(in concept, anyway)
The replicant and oracle are the only ones that really stand out as completely new.

Another question, is there any use at all for the preordain ability on the oracle. I mean, even a bronze level player should be able to tell what unit comp to expect based on the tech buildings he sees when he flies over the base to cast the ability. And pros will be able to guess based on timings or other factors. This ability just seems useless, and could be replaced with something better.
Bases can't be phased out. Preordain could be useful to check what a hatchery is researching, if it's burrow, etc.

my god... imagine a toss thats able to mass roaches.... oh god.... mass voidrays + mass roaches The replicant costs 200mins 200 gas. Copying a worker or a roach wouldn't be a very good idea. A worker could be worth it if the replicated worker can build. no it wont. because u just spent 600 minerals 200 gas to make a CC or a hatchery ALONE. and if the replicated drone/scv dies or the CC/hatchery gets sniped once its done building then that is money wasted. just build a nexus for the 400... Yeah, but you can get an extra race's units! you could do the same with infestors in WoL but it doesn't happen very often. I don't expect a replicator will get the chance very often either.
Why not ? You drop a replicator near the SCV , drones you replicate you pick it up with the prism and fly away .

I don't think you newbies understand how the fact that the Nexus now has the ability to mass recall will completely change the way Protoss plays.
As a Protoss player, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

This is exactly the type of thinking that resulted in the oracle and replicant, two gimmicky as hell units that look like trash. If they don't get cut, I'm probably going to pick up brood war as hots deviates from Starcraft fundamentals too much.

Psionics have been around in science fiction for a very long time before starcraft.

Well, am I the only one thinking that in late game it could be awesome to replicate a SCV, build a CC and use the CC to build SCVs to REPAIR your Protoss army? Their numbers cam be loq-ish, like 5-8, but it helps you keep both health and shield in the green, of which health is most valuable vs Terran!?!? Sounds stupid or sounds aweesome?

Totally agree, though I've felt this way since WoL.
Subpar writing is an understatement, and my problem with the unit designs has always been that it's really hard to distinguish between them until your eyes get really used to it.
They don't take silhouette into consideration when they design the units. It's really bad for casual spectators.

Dude, I'm all for interesting and creative new units; that is what I've been waiting for all this time. These units seem to be GIMMICKY as hell.
And when did the Protoss ever use their Psionic abilities to levitate shit and choke people? That is totally Darth Vader and Jedi shit. Am I wrong?

I like the units ability-wise, but aesthetically there are some pretty bad ones. The Protoss army will now have too many blob/spherical units: The Sentry, and now the Replicant and Oracle. Spheres are pretty boring, but even if they weren't diversity would be nice.
The Tempest is ok, but its attack looks silly. Just tossing a big sphere (a sphere again!). It would be nice if the attack actually looked like a tempest.
The Warhound just looks ridiculous, makeshift and toy-like.
The zerg units look good, though.

Psionic abilities are supposed to be like the force. Read the novel.

VS ZERG The replicator is just not cost effective enough to be viable. what would you make? not lings/roaches/hydras/mutas/corruptors that's for sure. I can see maybe replicating a swarmhost
The only replicable targets worth replicating on a zerg team are infestors and vipers. ... Of course, neither of those are particularly useful against zerg. ...
zerg is going to NEED vipers against colossus. And they make out of the hatch/lair like a queen, so I have to start making them when I see the robo, I couldn't just make 10 of them from larvae after flying into your main and seeing chrono boost on the robo bay. You can be sure the zerg will make them.
Blinding cloud will be useful against a hydra roach viper ball, just cast it over the back of the zerg's army.
Blinding cloud will also be useful against ling infestor if you cast it over the infestors.
It would be a matter of personal preference whether you'd rather replicate vipers or tech to HT.
You also aren't considering how awesome replicators will be in a team monobattle.

I'm sure someone already posted this, but if you go to starcraftign's channel on youtube they have videos of the new units.

It would be cool if they made the Tempest have charges to it's attack when it's not attacking. Continuous stream of attacks would be weak. Hence it would cause it to played more hit and run style.

I don't expect a replicator will get the chance very often either. replicants can safely clone a enemy worker from across the map, in the safety of its own base, and then start making new tech infestors must get into the front lines and clonse a enemy worker and then run that worker away to build new tech. its MUCH HARDER if infestors has a ability that said "sacrifice 2 infestors, this gives you a scv or probe which you can build tech with" i garuntee it would be used ALOT and it would be overpowered. this would cost 200/300 replicants are 200/200 and let a protoss steal a scv or probe and make new tech units heck, protoss will be able to mass collossi WITH MARINES now. holy crap. all toss needs is some defense and he can replicate a SCV and then make a CC and some barracks and start massing marines with his zealots/collossi LOL. think about it protoss. YOU NOW HAVE MARINES in the lategame. LOL
Hmm... I'd probably take a replicant expand for my 4th in PvT quite often I think. Maybe even for my 3rd... Could make the game very interesting actually.

I saw a picture where chrono boost was available and the player was mousing over arc shield. Recall was greyed out. It's probably about as high up in the tech treee as it already is, the only difference will be that you can pick any nexus on the map, rather than having to recall to wherever you left your mothership.
