As a Zerg player all I can say is that I'm already filled with dissapointment at the incoming nerf hammer....but in the mean time I'm going to feel pretty damn happy and hope Protoss expansion shows them the same kind of love without forcing Protoss to wait a year to compete and over nerfing everything else in the mean time.

These changes sound like they'll make the game hella more dynamic.

Im assuming the clone has a limited lifespan. I swear those blizzard never learn? The viper ability is the same as death grip spell in WoW, which is widely considered an imba spell. Zerg already have THREE ways to prevent the enemy from escaping (fungal, neural, and creep speed), did they really need ANOTHER? Hell, I was brainstorming with a couple friends about what we would like to see in HotS. We all play WoW and used to play WC3 so we were trying to thing of ideas from those games that could be used in SC2. Someone brought up death grip, and we all immediately agreed that it would be really imba, with it only being balanced if massive units were immune. However, the devs at blizzard and their infinite wisdom (sarcasm), clearly think otherwise. Blizzard used to be good at making expansion packs, but nowadays...

the one thing i'm really confused about is the oracle. all it's abilities except phase shift seem... lame. makes me think of the old frenzy spell the infestor had in beta. just uninteresting and not very helpful. tempest looks like it could be good, dunno till we see games with it, but isn't kind of like a beefier phoenix? what's the point in getting it if you have a decent phoenix count? or what's the point in getting phoenix if this thing turns out to be good?

rhetorical questions of course, we won't know till beta.

If Zerg's mobile detection comes after Spire, the game is going to be completely broken. Think burrowed roach timings. I still haven't seen a source for that information.

I'm liking everything except the design on that Goliath remake. It's like one of those grumpy ass scv drivers got tired of getting harassed and pimped his ride out with guns and shitty little legs.

I like what they did with the thor and warhound. The thor seemed stuck between being a beastly war machine and a do-it-all mass produced unit. Now you've got your crazy strong huge thor and a smaller more mass able robot type unit. Me likey.

Recall for 75 Nexus energy is disgustingly game-breaking, and will probably not even make it to closed Beta. It's probably game-breaking for 200 energy too.


I think some people are exaggerating the usefulness of a recall as opposed to 3 chrono boosts.

Feign a push, force recall, repeat as needed, push with toss army out of position.

personally I don't know if these will be problems or not ... but why the hell would they make balance decisions have anything to do with WoW

the viper will NOT come with the lair. it will come with the spire. which is lair tech. zerg will NEVER get a caster unit just by going to T2. think about that for a tiny second and you'll figure.

Zerg new units are cool, but dammit, blizzard, why do you hate zerg detection?
Cloaked units worked fine against Zerg with overlords having detection. Oh well, it will be seen how many people die to DT rushes. And cloaked banshees. Horribly.

Protoss should honestly get to keep the Mothership, and have that keep Mass Recall. Because Kiwikaki does it, and it works. No need to stick it onto every nexus, which is probably broken. XD

Terran units look lulzy. No comment.
