I want to know if the new detection-parasite ability works on units that are burrowed. It'd be pretty amusing to have your own hidden detector for Zerg like Protoss does with Observers.

If the Oracle has detection doesn't that make it the Protoss Overseer? A scout unit that with strange and possibly weak abilities that got removed because it had such narrow use.

It's the principle of it. Carriers should have been fixed to be as glorious as they were in BW but Blizzard took the easy way out and got rid of a long time iconic unit and gave us something else in place of it.


Both Zerg and Terran generally built their armies in such a way as to counter Colossus, and sadly the Carrier was countered by the same things. Also I really wonder how how glorious the image of BW carriers would be if it wasn't for the TvP meta-game being mech heavy.

Exactly, so the Colossus isn't just responsible for it's own slot that it's wasting. It has basically ruined both of the proxy attacking protoss units from BroodWar. Stubborn, Blizzard? Everyone agrees it's the most boring unit in the game.


But man, it LOOKS cool!! I saw an interview where they said they kept it during developement because they thought the design was great and that it was the best way to make units... but still...

why should it? you need chrono for the zealots and the spell doesnt make that much dmg.

With proxy gates, the spell would be useless unless you dropped chrono's on your zeals (and floated money because of it) in order to protect your 2 gateways from... enemy zealots?

Don't understand all the complaints about no overseer. Zerg has to play slightly less greedy and get a lair up sooner? Toss is forced into robo builds if they want detection. Fast robos slow down expand timings. Plus, how will other races know which unit is the detector? Is it marked, sort of like parasited units in BW? It's easy to snipe obs/ravens, but mystery detectors for zerg seem pretty awesome.

There is little difference in whether you kill the drones or prevent them on mining. The only thing that matters is the overall impact on the economy, which will depend on how, for instance, how mobile the oracle is and how much Entomb costs.



What? There's a huge difference between killing 10 drones and preventing 10 drones from mining for a short period of time. In one of the above the zerg actually has to spend money to remake drones in addition to lost mining time.
You need to be 100% behind someone before you can stab them in the back

Arc requires gateway tech... it says it on the screenshot. Though... BOSS gateway Forge inbase plays will be fucking BOSS!


You wall yourself in, they arc their nexus, your probe dies. Hardly seems boss to me.
