I just dont like the idea of a Zerg "Siege Tank" it just does not fit the race that is suppose to be Zergy and very mobile. Same reason i dont like the Marauder (which Artosis explains perfectly).
I hope its a Lurker type unit, does not have to be a carbon copy of it but that unit was so cool and unique.
Reason nobody wants the Scout, Firebat etc is because those units were kinda lame and crappy, not even the most devoted BW fan will defend those units, but Lurker and Reaver are 2 units SC2 desperatly needs, they were awesome.

It's a baneling with a cape ála djWHEAT!

I don't think this will be a tank, it looks more like some sort of AA unit, like a goliath. Although I don't see much point for this, as queens have pretty good AA already. Maybe protoss or terran air gets buffed?

Personally i hope it's a lurker, zerg could using some siege tech beyond the Broodlord, which are way to vulnerable on their own. So a Broodwar-esque lurker would be fantastic.
I was under the impression the Lurker was already in the game, just not accessible beyond UMS. Seems strange to go to all the effort of creating a new lurker when the old one would do just fine.
I'm hoping for something like a land-variation of the BW Devourer. Spew debuffing gunk over mass Roaches, Deathballs and Siegetank lines

Fuck yes that HAS to be a lurker. Really excited to see what HotS has to offer.

you realize the lurker was the zerg "seige tank" as both have a siege mode that makes them immobile but gives them a long range splash damage attack

Long range? The Lurker had a range of 6. The only time it's ever anything like the siege tank is before the other player has detection. The two units are very very different.

Actually I realize since my previous post this color suits it much better

Anyone not think it could be a t2 ling? ling like siege lurkers that pepper their opponents to death. Would be cool like 60 burrowed mini-siege tanks, I mean there is no scale to the thing is there?

BroodKing, shoots banelings from the ground. lol.

They already said Zerg is getting a siege unit, this is most likely it. I just hope it's not good.

This makes me think of a zerg spidermine

The Reaver isent needed, but i do think the Lurker is needed. I dont even want to imagine a Toss 200 army with HTs, Colossi and Reavers, the aoe damage would probably be overkill. Seeing perfect micro and Reavers in Shuttles is one of the sexiest things you could witness in BW, so its more of a fanboy request to see that unit back than actual need.
However Lurker is needed and no i dont agree that its a typical "siege unit", the unit had alot of roles, siege, stealth, harrasment etc. One of the complaints early in SC2 was that Zerg just could not abuse ramps as much as the other 2 races, one of the reasons maps such as LT and Kulas Ravine (lol) were generally disliked.
Lurker fills that role really well, it also gives Zerg a proper stealth unit and a way to slaughter Marines. It would also force Terrans get Ravens, which in turn would force them to utilize them more and it would overall just improve the TvZ matchup with more layers of depth.

Interesting, that head looks a lot like a hydra... This is possibly morphed from a hyda? Isn't that how lurkers worked in BW?
|
You guys have it backwards. That claw thing isn't a claw but rather a tail. What you guys are assuming is its butt is actually its face. It's a scorpion-like unit.

and how do this THING atk??

First thing I thought when I saw it was that it looked like some hydralisk morph that would go into "siege mode" and fire long range blasts. Seems like that's what everyone else is thinking too.
I don't know though, I doubt Blizzard would make a unit that was essentially a Zerg siege tank. Maybe it's melee for ground attacks and ranged for air?
