Compare them to other zerg units. We zerg players take great pride in our quick and agile armies. Moving from 1 side of the map to the other is what is important to us. The hydralisk kills the whole army's mobility, because the army should stick together thus moving at the slowest unit's pace. And that's not the speedling, not the speedroach, not the centrifugal-hooked banelings, and certainly not the mutalisk, hell I think even the ultralisk is faster than hydra (but I may be wrong here). Zerg is nothing without mobility.

Its not like you use stim to walk over a large map, everything would be in the red by then.

Zerg is nothing without mobility. Ultralisks are actually pretty damned fast if they don't get themselves wedged behind a slough of other units. Their size lies about their quick feet!

So They don't really synergize with the rest of the army too well. :/
