I've skimmed through the pages but nobody seems to be giving a decent answer to the build itself. Pretty much no...as most of this thread is balance whine without much thought as to the strategy >_> That or whatever you may suggest ends up being "low level" or not korean gm... It's kind of a hard discussion as everyone is so incredibly biased and theory gives way to other theory without any testing or results. And the results that do turn up are ignored and disregarded as not related to the thing that they were testing...

The tank variation gets absolutely raped by phoenix builds, because u use guardian shield, walk zealots in and lift tanks. all the guy has left is non-stimmed marines against guardian shield forcefields and zealots... that's easy win. Against the banshee variation (which is stronger imo,) you need cannons because stalkers are so fucking bad. Also sentries can target down and kill the PDD very easily.

What about the variation which uses both Banshees and Tanks... you know, the one called the 1-1-1 build?

I've read a lot of this thread but not all of it, so please excuse me if this has been raised. I find the many 1-1-1s difficult to defend and I appreciate the OPs summary of how Koreans are reacting to it.

It hasn't made much of an impression on you because actually Protoss players are really slow to QQ compared to the Zerg. And even now, there are Protoss players that are very sure that they can hold it even though there are disagreements. MLG dallas ?? There have been so many balance changes since then that it simply can't be the same situation. And there is a huge difference between "existing" and "being popular". Just like blue flame helions, it exists since basically the release of the game. But it has only been recently popularized. There are Protoss players that are very sure that they can hold it ??? Well, you know what, I'd really prefer to hear from them how to deal with it, rather than seeing all the QQ. Comparatively, Zerg was all pure whining even when the stats indicated they were not UP. This was mainly because they have vocal Zerg players like Idra. According to July TLPD, the most imbalanced match up is ZvT. If you look in the forums, all you see is PvT complains. Even if I like hearing Idra's opinion. A player like him really doesn't help with balance, it just make people rage more. I personnaly still don't feel helpless in PvT, like I felt before in others match up.

The most analagous example I can think of is MC's attempted breakout v MVP in his group matches. The raven spotted all the hallu's so they did very little besides make it a bit tougher for the real units to get into position.

I thought of hallucinations but most of the time the 1-1-1 comes with a raven which completely nullifies hallucination, putting you down 100/100 if anything.

So much balance whining, thought we had a thread for that ![]()

So much balance whining, thought we had a thread for that ![]() beneath the whine there are some legitimate arguments, also the mods would rather keep things in one or two threads than let it spread everywhere, as it stands all of the 1/1/1 balance whine is being directed here, otherwise people would start making more and more threads which would require the mods to lock them all, which can be quite tiring and annoying
