Also if MorroW wins and IdrA loses, that will be the final slap in the face for IdrA for his BM after losing in IEM 2010 to MorroW (who was playing T at that time). IPL would like to talk to you regarding Idra.
IPL lineup was extremely weak, even weaker than some TSL open qualifier tournaments, with no Europeans or Koreans, so ofc. he dominated. His only real competition was SeleCt, Sheth and KiWiKaKi. IdrA is the best player in NA, but world wide he is probably 6th or 7th zerg behind July, NesTea, Morrow, Dimaga, Losira (and perhaps even Moon, judging by their head to head record in the last IEM 2011 and Zenio). IMO the only tournament that he actually did well at was MLG DC, that too back in 2010. The past 6 months have been very mediocre, especially for a guy who talks smack like him. If you talk smack, you better have the dominating results to back it up.

Nony needs to win, man. It's been too long.
Actually, all of Liquid needs to do really well. Clean up MLG like they did that one time... time to get out of this slump!
@ The guy above... Those players being better than Idra is up for discussion, but I wouldnt say MorroW is at Idras level at all.

TLOOOOOO to win
been doing so much for the community and is just a baller in general. Would love to see him go far.
Even if he doesn't advance far his games will probably be some of the most entertaining...as usual!
|
win: idra, mc, destiny.
lose: well, to be honest, there's no one that I actually want to lose heheh. I just want everyone to do well, it makes me so sad to see players work so hard and then have poor results :c
|
Players I hope win: Moon Grubby Thorzain
Players I hope lose: Naniwa ( up against moon ) Drewbie ( up against moon ) Slush ( up against moon )
|
If theres one thing that Im hooping for it would be that just like last time; some players who make it through the open bracket really push for the tournament win.
As for wanting people to lose, none, the better everyone plays the better the matches.
|
To Win : A vVv Player A ONE Player A FXO Player
To Lose : Koreans (Don't really want anyone else to lose.. Just good matches, I guess rivalry teams like EG and compLexity)
|
To Win:
1. MMA - He has impressed me and needs to finally get a non-TL tourney performance 2. Haypro - He is a much better player than his results indicate and hopefully he can break out of his tournament losing streak and put some good results. 3. Someone from the open bracket - I feel that the odds are rather stacked against players coming through the open brackets due to the nature of the format. So, I would root for the 'underdog' (though Thorzain/July are hardly underdogs)
To Lose:
1. Idra - I have no opinion on him either way but I find it hilarious to read the fanboy over-reactions when he loses. 2. Gretorp - It is obvious that he focusing on casting more than playing these days and has a pool play seed purely based on bad format. 3. I don't really hate any players as such and hope everyone shows good games.
|
To win: Tyler Sheth Losira
To lose: MC ggretorp I don't know
|
To win: Thorzain - Fell in love with his play in TSL Naniwa - Fell in love with his play last MLG Any liquid player - Likable guys
To lose: Idra - His reaction.
|
To win select cuzz he deserves a big tournement name and he is NA's only hope in winning a gsl once
To perform well Thorzain so the koreans wont say it was luck or lagg or all the other bs they said Moonan because he blew my mind in dallas Kiwikaki because i saw his loss in gsl 3 quilifier it was lame :/
To perform horibble Moon dont like him dont like his ... Bm like changeling dropping when youre winning. Mc for his retarded ego The entire sixjax and Complexity team overhyped second rate players ESPecially cruncher

To Win: - ROOTDestiny: I love his stream, and he is a very funny and talented person imo. He is definitely not the best by any means, not even close, but he is the exemplification of a player who can play at the professional level and still have another life behind it. I find his "multitasking" abilities to be quite admirable. Plus I love his stream, did I mention that? - EGIdra: As much as I would love to see how much he and his fanbase flips out if he loses, he is a very talented player, and the work he puts into the game absolutely deserves another MLG win. - dNaniwa: Pure talent, nothing else to say about him. He absolutely deserves it. - mouzThorzain: Also pure talent, deserves to win as much as Naniwa does.
To Lose I don't like mentioning anyone because I'm a nice guy

I want an another great story about a player that kicks ass in both open tournament, group play and then wins the entire thing.
Cheering for:
a) MorroW b) ThorZain c) Tyler
To lose:
a) Koreans
It might sound racist, but it's quite the opposite. I consider the Koreans to be better prepared for these kind of events and to have an upper hand, so gl hf foreigners.

Note--There is a difference between expecting and hoping. We expect the koreans to kick ass and chew bubble gum, but I don't know that many of us are hoping that happens. Also note: To win doesn't necessarily mean the entire thing. Making it to the championship bracket is a win in most players books For me: To win! Destiny--Before Dallas on SOTG the pillars basically said hes good but not great and won't do well, he doesn't take practice very seriouslt, etc. Well he has now qualified for IPL2 (something Tyler failed to do) and I hope this gives him some confidence to tear up the open bracket. Hopefully this time he doesn't let any spires die from being off of creep... Tyler--This guy needs a win. Rumors of him quitting (which he denied on SOTG), and I dont want him to. Mostly because it would be bad for esports if he did, but either way. I want him to do well enough to reinvigorate his play and stop himself from feeling like he isn't performing to his own standards Catz-- I split him away from destiny to make it look like im not Root or zerg biased...but I am. He took a game off MC which means he can at least make a good showing against the best in the world and hes generally just a nice and funny guy. To fail! Gretorp--Dear god, the guy has the 16th seed for Dallas because 2 people decide not so show and then he goes something like 2-5 (by all means correct me, but I'm pretty confident it was a very losing record) and gets 16th seed again. Someone please just knock him out of the pool play already. I don't mind him as a person so much, but just based on results and continued "success" in MLG it makes me sad that the system works in a way where someone can have pretty bad results, but still get seeded. Major--Anyone who thinks they deserve to get paid based on non-existent results deserves to get a swift kick in the teeth. Couple that with the rumored/theorized hacking and consistent team jumping...While I would never hope bad things on Artosis, I want his first recruitment to end in a very early exit from Columbus. 1-2 Koreans--Everyone knows they are extremely good but I wouldn't mind watching a few of them get destroyed if for nothing more than to give a bit more confidence to the west. Even after the WC Team portion almost every western tournament is still a tournament without koreans, and therefore tier 2. Heres to hoping a few are put in their place this weekend. The only problem I see with this is if they do get destroyed everyone will just say " well MC, Nestea, MVP, and MKP weren't there so its not like you beat the best" but at least players like bomber, MMA, losira are considered among the top and can't forget the super secret unannounced but still known + Show Spoiler + who is sure to tear apart the open bracket. You don't find and grow new talent by not paying and accommodating it. Big time sports pay rookies very well if they have a lot of potential. If you see the same in a player SC 2 should be no different. Don't blame him for wanting some kind of financial support.
Why on earth would you quote the ENTIRE OP to post three lines of text!?!?
On topic I definitely agree that Tyler is probably looking for the chance to get back on is game. However I don't think that Destiny qualifying for IPL and Tyler failing to do so is grounds to think Destiny is better--he just didn't have to play Sjow.
And after you posted this MC has confirmed he is attending. I want to wish him best of luck but I can't help but acknowledge the small part of me that wants to see him stomped out in the early stages.

OT: Does anyone know what timezone the times on their webpage is in? Can't find anything about it.
OnT:
To win:
1) Naniwa (would be awesome with a repeat and because I think he could do well in GSL) 2) Idra (cuz I really want him to get some more wins under his belt since he is so good) 3) Thorzain ( Because he has proven to be a player who, if given enough time to prepare, could destroy anyone and that would be cool to see in the gsl)
To lose:
The koreans rly, we saw from that GomTV guy that posted on the forums earlier this week that it seems they consider themself above us and it would be nice to show them we can bring it.
:D

To win:
1.) July - Because he is the God of War and was one of my favorite BW players. He has said in the past that he wants to play in foreign tournaments, before he has to join the military. So i hope that he can show a good performance.
2.) Ret - He is one of the strongest zergs in the world. Now show it in a big tourney. >:| Show it NOW!
3.) Demuslim - Because he is a funny guy on ESL.tv and just recently came back as a player. He propably needs a bit more time to get his old form back, but i hope he plays well at MLG.
There arent really players, i want to see fail. Just maybe some of the (in my opinion) a bit overrated players. But everyone who performs well, deserves a good result.

To win:
1. MMA, handsome guy, incredible mechanics and solid play. Also like when he wins, he just radiates happyness and is very shy but in a proud way. It looks really sweet. I actually think he will win the whole thing. It's hard to say and base it on anything ofcourse but all the games he's played even the ones he lost or the series he lost, he has been nothing but solid as a rock. And I think in a survival tournament like MLG, spanning multiple days. That consistency is what is gonna allow one to stay in until the end. The only question here is how much endurance he will have. But I believe in him, fighting!
3. (3 is no typo) Any other Koreans attending or having them take up the complete top spots. Like 1 to 5th. I know that sucks very much and even though I would want to support "our" players as much as possible. I think it would be good to get the whole community on the same page or something. Atleast I feel it would be from my take on the whole GSL-MLG exchange. I think they should want to go over to become the best player they can be. So that they can win the money they want to win. Having Koreans come here and take the money is gonna be bad initially but I hope it will motivate them to practice really hard or something. So that as time goes on, say in another year, the foreign scene won't be behind.
2. (you will see why I ordered it like this) Any non Koreans who are really striving for what I mentioned above. The ones that really want to go to Korea. I would like them to win over the Koreans mentioned above so they can get their Code S/Code A spots. I don't know exactly all the names that fit in here but even if I haven't heard of you, I want you to succeed.
To lose: Nobody, but, I would like the above to come through and that would mean many will have to be satisfied with a spot much lower than they would've liked. I would be ok with that one time. There are many who I like amongst these and obviously I want them to be able to support themselves so we can continue to watch them. It's up to you to change my perception and make those words and believes spoken of and shared by quite a significant portion of the community valid.

Zenio is great at zvz, loses to choya which again shows he's more of a zvz specialist and has a losing record in the GSL right now. Morrow has always been a step behind idra. Btw select is Korean.

To win:
1) Our man Tyler. I don't think he's at full strength, but he does have the skill. It's time he bags something not just for TL, but for himself.
2) JulyZerg. This is a nerd wet dream. A Brood War golden mouse winner wins a play-in tournament for a trip to America to slog through a full day of open bracket for a chance to square off with the best of the non-Korean scene. A JulyZerg win would be epic.
3) Thorzain. Similarly to JulyZerg, Thorzain is going to have a long slog just to make it to the dance. He has it in him, and to see him carry his momentum from TSL3 would be really impressive.
To Lose:
1) Idra. His work ethic and attitude aren't great. He's an exceptional talent, but he's the heel of our shindig in Columbus.
2) Moon. Moon's inclusion is bizarre. This could have been Nestea, MVP, MKP, San, Nada, or any number of other more talented SC2 players. As it is he may do well, based on his past performances abroad, but he isn't even mid-tier player in Korea anymore.
3) Gretorp. No hate, but he's squeaking by and isn't fully justifying his inclusion. With his focus on casting, I think it's time he's pushed out of the MLG Top 16.
