Most pro-gaming sponsors don't actually make any money from sponsoring a team (at least not directly).

If these ex-LG guys are smart at all, then they will try to get on FXO so they can live in that mansion :o

He had one good showing that put him into the spotlight at MLG and the rest of his performances have been disappointing (see most recently: NASL).
Well north America(especially the U.S.) has a serious lack of solid terrans at the moment. EG for example has what two terrans? Painuser has shown better results than LZgamer, would not be surprised if we saw EG.Painuser in the near future. Regardless, best of luck to the players in finding new teams! is this a joke? --;

I've been thinking about this a bit. This is situation is remarkable because never before in SC2 history has there been so many quality players thrown on to the market at once. At least I think that's the case.
The next month or so should be interesting; I'm excited to see where everyone ends up. Best of luck to all the players and Noah.

Aww poor Lz!
Anyways, LG had a very great roster... hopefully they all find great new homes.

Good luck to the former LG members. Hope we see some updates on where everyone goes soon!

Well I was writing mainly to respond to the quote about whether the sponsor ever had a plan to make money. Few sponsors (if any) make money from these teams. Sponsorship is just an advertising cost. The difference here is that a company like Razer obviously has products that their name is attached to. This guy was essentially advertising his name without any product affiliation. It would be the same as a guy renting out a billboard and writing some random message on it rather than putting up a car ad.

Artosis likes terrans, SixjaxPainuser?

I wonder if EG would pick up Painuser, they do only have one terran ever since beta, to mix in with like 3 zergs and 2 protoss's in north america. Would be interesting to see

Well, LZ had to fight through an open bracket and made it in to the top 32 which is a huge feat in it of itself...so you can't compare it due to MLG's system since it gives a ridiculous advantage to seeded players.

Praetoriani & Lazarus Gaming disbanding is sad news. Unfortunately this is what happens to teams that are unable to grow and/or find stability. I have almost all of the teams carrying an SC2 squad bookmarked and visit their sites at-least once every couple of weeks and what I noticed on Prae's & LZ's sites was that they had no sponsors. I'm not saying this is why they had to disband, but it's most likely a reason for not being able to sustain an e-sports organization. The sad truth is when you start a team and are able to find talent, like Praetoriani's Thorzain for example, larger teams will recruit them right out of your organization once they start winning and making a name for themselves. The smaller team is in a position where their not able to "cash-in" on their "golden-boy". Kind of a no-win situation. You need sponsors to pay the talent, but the talent leaves before you can use their success to attract sponsors.
As for Prae's & LZ's well-known players, they will of course be picked up by other organizations, but what worries me a bit is that SC2 needs these Grass-Roots Teams (as I like to call them) to find, nurture and grow new talent. For example without Praetoriani picking up Thorzain and enabling him to train as a semi- or full professional, i believe, he would never have been in a position to seriously participate and do so well in a tournament like TSL. In TSL he made a name for himself and got himself noticed by one of the larger organizations. I strongly believe that SC2 needs it's "smaller" teams as in the current SC2 scene we do not have a proper system for developing talent on large scale. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but..) Unlike BW in Korea, SC2 teams do not have B-Teams and only a few of the larger organizations like mouz have tournament to find and recruit new talent. And only the larger teams like TL or EG can sustain a large squad and send all members to off-line tournaments. What I'm trying to say is that the disbanding of Praetoriani & Lazarus Gaming will not kill SC2, but it should be considered a significant enough loss and not be so easily pushed aside with a "shit happens" and then become a discussion on who will pick-up who. Show some love for the organization that make it all possible, not just the players. ; )

I'm sure there are a lot of teams out there who'd want to pick up someone of Painuser's quality.
Best of luck to the other guys as well.

I would send any of these players to MLG. I am jealous whoever lands them and if anyone is not taken yet please pm me for more details ^^ Sooner the better.

PU has outperformed you pretty handily since beta, not that you're bad. It's just that you don't really have results to your name like your teammates do.

Destiny and Minigun were talking last night on their streams about how they think root needs more players, mostly terran, since there's only 1 terran in root (drewbie), so maybe root will pick up somebody? We shall see... Zelniq, inka, and agh are pretty good, so hopefully they all find nice teams for themselves!

Sad to hear about team, but I am sure their main players will be picked in a moment.
Also, stop bashing Lz - he is one of coolest EG members, I am sure he will show awesome results in future! -,-
