In open beta, I was playing in Korea and got into diamond after 30 or so games cause I had some RTS background with SC:BW. At the time I was pretty clueless about SC2 because I didn't play closed beta, so I wasn't even that excited about it. Just kept playing and playing (actually played the most number of games in open beta/season 1).

I remember in season 2 when I got my grandmaster icon

I hadn't played due to internet issues after the season started, and crammed in like 100 games in 3 days just before grandmaster opened up and ended up getting in.

Things didn't go so well for season 3 though, as I quit at the end of season 2, and ended up not getting into GM this time

Starting to play again now though, hopefully I can make it back in.

i was on my computer one day, and i noticed a picture about which i remembered nothing. i opened it up and it was a screenshot of me getting promoted to platinum for 4v4s as terran (i play zerg) and in big white letters, it said 'IM DRUNK LOL!"

i started in bronze, got promoted to silver(was already silver on SEA so wasnt much of a big deal), got promoted to gold about 1 month later and this was quite a big deal because i was the lat of my friends(about 5 played) to get into it.

but the, they were all stuck in gold and guess who was first to get through to plat????

MEEE, felt so good and i bragged for so long, good times

It seems every season I make a new league. Started in gold S1 and currently top diamond. I have this system where I only play without bonus pool in the league where I'm closest to promotion =)
Could probably make master in 4v4 if I only played my main race, but I'd rather have the skull you get for 1k games won as random. I'm a little sick in the head...

Ps. Imagine the satisfaction when you make it!

I just 4 gated my way in 18 games from bronze to diamond. I feel like it went to easy. I'm playing a daily tournament with only diamond and i keep ketting crushed. I only made it to the semi finals 2 times. in about 10 tries. I feel like i'm placed to high.

Started playing in June, just before S2 was over. Got into Bronze after losing all placement matches. Managed to get to Silver when S3 started and now leading in Gold and playing mostly vs Platinum, probably getting promoted soon..

Started playing when season 2 started, having never played sc2 or BW before I was placed into bronce, but I got the grip of the game pretty quick and got promoted to silver within 2 weeks, then gold about 2 weeks later, then plat where I stayed for the rest of season 2. Season 3 started and I was placed into diamond where I am right now in rank 1 trying to get into masters.

Started playing a month or two after release - played a bunch of WC3 but no Brood War apart from the campaign when I was a kid. Placed in Bronze, played consistently since then, finally tonight I reached rank 1 in Masters. ^_^

Got demoted at the start of season 3 and been mostly sucking as i played a looooot of team games at the end of season 2, as i found you cant just go pure ling as much in 1v1s so i lost a lot of ground.
Finally after 3 days of playing against purely masters players and crushing most i got promoted last night finally. Ended up doing it ZvT on shakuras, scouted on a late 9 (after ovie started but before 10th drone) and killed his building SCV he yelled about why i would scout that early (to avoid being blocked out like i had been so often lately) and ended up beating him a bit later as he had attempted to almost continuously expand. Killed his 4th and wrecked the 3rd, ultras finally cleared out the rest.

Glad to be back in masters, though now i have like 250 in my bonus pool to tear through.

After a retarded amount of games vs high plats/low diamonds I got pissed off the game and dedicided to go out. So we end up at a friend's house and he wants to see me play cause he doesn't believe the whole "I am gold but I face higher" thing. I am just so fed up with the game today so I just go for a blind "eco 9 pool"(as I had read about in the strategy section, and it is a suprisingly good build in this league) on Abyssal Caverns ZvP. Turns out he is close by air, and is really freaking greedy, going nexus first without scouting me. I kill both his pylons, reinforce with more lings and quickly take the win.

Then, after like 4 days of intense training and laddering (20-25 games at least per day) I finally got plat. At long last, I had won over the battle.net's god awful system which had kept me in gold for way too long.

Was hanging out in gold for a few months, then for like 24 hours like every single person was cheesing me. I do a lot of things badly, but I scout pretty well, and I was focusing on scouting, so I held everything off, went like 15-2 for the day. A few games later, I was promoted to Platinum!

I was in bronze season 1, having no previous experience with SC2 or RTS games. I played very little.

Season 2 I said to myself : "Okay, I'm gonna start harassing people while macroing" I had never done it before. Thus, mutalisk harass and scouting got me into silver.

Season 3: I made it into gold after switching to terran and doing scv all ins with a few marines.
I decided I was being stupid and stopped playing terran and went back to zerg!

This season I am top 2 gold player with 46 wins and 780 points..... I never, ever cheese. I have sworn to playing macro zerg that perfectly reacts to the opponent. The only games I lose are liek where youre on a really big map and terran goes double starport banshee hidden in the farthest expo.

Somehow I havent been promoted yet!!!!!!

So I will edit this when I get into Plat!

Only funny one I have is getting into diamond. I was playing some sc2 one saturday night and I thought to myself "I won't go to sleep till I'm in diamond." I queued for another game, and as the game started I realized that I was really tired and really wanted to go to sleep. I was thinking, "I really hope this guy disconnects so I can go to sleep sooner without losing mmr." A few minutes later, a lag screen for him appeared. I waited, waited, and he disconnected. As I entered the score screen the diamond promotion notification appeared. ^^

i started in silver. i make some marines and got into gold. then i made more marines and got into platinum. its gotten boring so i made less marines and got into gold again. i was sad and i made so many marines even more than before and i got to diamond
