Went on like a 8-9 game winstreak till I was playing diamonds, went like 8-6 against them, the season ended, I won my placement match and voila I'm diamond, in under two weeks and under thirty games. What a story eh?

So I started in silver and since my friends were in gold i played like 10 games in a row and got into gold the same day. Eventually i moved up to plat and when masters came out, i got into diamond. I found masters was out of my reach. Anyways a year later, I go back to school and join my college CSL team. I was selected to play due to my diamond rank 1. I played my first csl match, I lost horribly and was extremely frustrated. To relieve the stress i played 2 ladder games. The 1st game i won a macro game against a zerg on taldarim. The 2nd game was a PvP, i wanted an ez win so i boss cannon rushed successfully. Afterwards, to my shock I was immediately promoted to masters, a league I had never been able to get for months (months where I was rank 1 diamond). YAY! But ever since achieving my goal I havent been playing much lol. I think it is because I have accomplished my ultimate goal and sort of finished the game (also my friends all quit lol).

Played more games/customs and got better with my balance(droning/army) but wanted a more microable race and didn't want to miss out on Terran/Protoss so I went random late Dec. I start S2 as random and I'm maintaining a ~54% win rate. I go on a win streak(11-1) and start facing a lot of gold players. I got promoted after winning a ZvsT close positions meta where my Terran opponent went 5 rax and kept attacking with marines. I lost my exp and at one point even had to pull my drones to get a surround on the ramp, but, eventually I got my exp back up with a bane nest and was able to hit his last marine attack with 5 banes. I then bane busted to victory After that, I started to play less and eventually decided that I wanted more TvsZ action(don't get many when you random), so, I went Terran in S3. I start with a ~50% win rate but I started to put more effort into my game and multitask as well as macro better(more workers/faster FE, etc...). I went on another win streak and started hitting Plat players winning around 50%. Got promoted after a TvsP on Altar where me and my opponent kept trading armies. I almost lost as well but my marine micro and the fact that I had better upgrades/better counter to his army composition meant that I survived and eventually won. Mijati United Kingdom44 Posts September 25 2011 05:46 GMT #485 I originally had a US account which I played on during the first season then shortly after the 2nd season started I got an EU account too (I live in Europe so made sense) and pretty much abandoned my US account other than to play my placement game for S3. In US I was Gold, in EU I was gold too and getting fairly high up. I had a friendly tournament to play in on the US servers so I decide to go practice there to get used to the latency etc. and after about 4 games I got promoted to Platinum! Wasn't expecting that at all so was an awesome surprise. Still in Gold on my EU account (Although granted I've only played one match since then). Might have to start playing more on my US account

Got silver in s2 by learning to 7 roach rush as zerg, in s3 switched to terran for 2 games and hated it so went back to toss and started playing non-cheesy (except pvp, fuck that matchup) and got gold.

Dezire Netherlands640 Posts September 26 2011 20:56 GMT #489 sc2 was my first rts ever, so did like 5 games in practise league and thought hell yeah im ready! so i did my placements, went 1 - 5 i think or so got into bronze. (this was halfway season1) went 0 - 30 then cuz i had no clue what i was doing, then started watching youtube and streams and everything and went quickly to 40 - 75 and had my promotion soon, didnt stay long in silver nor gold, then platinum for a longer time and at the end of season 1 diamond. then season two somewhere mid diamond and got frustrated one night and demoted myself, stuck way to long in platinum a fter that but jst before season 3 i promoted to diamond again, now i am top diamond and somewhere on the verge of masters (i hope) :D

Then i switched to zerg when retail came out, worked my way up from silver to diamond in a few months time ( i dont have time to play that much ) and now ive been diamond since november or something, awesome..

Then from silver to gold I can't remember the games leading up to it, but my promotion game was a disconnect from the opponent Then my gold to platinum was almost just as retarded as my silver to gold. I came off of a huge like 13 game win streak, then i lost 3 games in a row because I made some stupid mistakes. I was already pissed heading into my 4th game, and fucking up my build in the very beginning pissed me off even more. So I just put down like 3 barracks and did a scv marine all-in. Luckily it smashed the guy. I felt bad though because i made the other guy get angry too I just think its kind of funny that after doing very well and sticking to a solid macro based build, its when i get pissed and all-in that i get promoted.

scarper65 1560 Posts September 26 2011 21:21 GMT #494 I go on a five game losing streak to protoss. Pretty much every one of them was doing a 3gate robo or a 4gate. When I got my sixth protoss in a row, I decided to just 3 rax and kill him. It worked, and I got promoted to masters :D

kituatembo United States39 Posts September 26 2011 21:31 GMT #496 i played bw a little bit but only like using cheats and building cannons everywhere. i got sc2 on midnight release and i didn't play the 1v1s much but was in silver league. i really liked 2v2s and 4v4s so i played them a lot. as i kept playing i got into plat in both 2v2s and 4v4s which sparked my interests in 1v1 again. i play a bit and found that i was beating silver and low gold very easily. i was quickly put into gold where i i stayed for a while as i got back into 2v2s and 3v3s. eventually i was promoted into diamond and was amazed with my self. the playing of team games helped my mechanics a lot but not much with 1v1 strategy. then i started really getting into 1v1s. i played and played until i was a plat on the verge of diamond. then it happened. couldn't even tell you how happy i was. then i started playing 1v1 all the time not really bothering with team games just grinding out games on 1v1 latter. then i made friends and started playing team games again. however i eventually decided to get to masters and stopped with playing with friends only asking them to help with my 1v1. then about 3 weeks ago i got masters and am currently a mid masters protoss.

MGN France383 Posts September 26 2011 21:40 GMT #500 I got promoted in platinium recently, and the way i did it was quite funny : some zerg 6 pooled me, i was raging and started lifting up my cc and making buildings quite everywhere on the map aswell as a lot of scvs, and since the zerg only had tons of zerglings he couldnt do anything till some times. Then he typed "im boring" (i assume he meant "im bored" but not sure) And left the game. And i got promoted with this win. I was so happy man, haha
