Season 1: Gold > Learn macro
Season 2: Platinum > Learn about the game and BOs - better macro
Season 3: Diamond > Better macro, better micro and scout better

And hope to get Masters next season, or earlier if I have more time to play from now.

Placed in plat, quickly got to diamond in 27 games and didn't play anymore until masters rolled out. Played a few games now and then but couldnt break into masters.

Then played a lot more than I usually did last season, like 2-3 games per day D: while the ladder was locked at the end of the season. Got matched up against a lot of masters and high diamonds but couldn't get promoted since it was ladder lock. Played a game at the start of the new season which I lost. Got put into Masters, haven't played since.

It was early Tuesday morning, right after GM was released in season 3. I played four games, I won one then played the same guy, losing twice. Now, I play a guy named Bio and win. He was a GM last season, but not too high. I got promoted to GM.

Fast forward a few more months, he is rank 20 GM now, I am rank 70

. Although we used to be in different teams, we are now in the same team and help each other out.

Well I actually got from rank 100 bronze to rank 5 diamond in 50 wins or 1.5 weeks because terran was overpowered when the retail came out. I reaper rushed every single game on every map vs every race. I had no experience with previous rts games so I was a complete noob. I thought I was really good at the time because I thought reaper rushes were extremely hard to do and that thought no one else was doing them and didn't even know what macro or hot keys were. After they nerfed reapers I kinda stopped playing 1v1s afraid of demotion(I was bragging to all my friends who were still in bronze that didn't know that I was actually worse than them). So then I just did a some 2v2s with the occasional 1v1 and surprisingly made masters when the league came out and haven't moved out of it ever since. To this day I don't know how reaper rushing got me this far but I actually haven't gotten the joy of a promotion yet because I never actually played macro games in the lower leagues.

Friend gave me his plat sc2 account. Dropped to bronze in 20 games. Mass marine ed my way to silver. MMM'ed my way to plat. Made some tanks to get into diam:o

Season 1 : bronze, didnt know the game at all lol
Season 2 : step-by-step promotion to high plat after practicing lots
Season 3 : after the placement match I was promoted to diamond.

Beta: Placed into Platinum, and Diamond when it came out.

Season 1: Net was crappy from weather so I DC'd 3/5 of my Placement matches. Got put into Gold. Played for a day or so to get into Diamond after the crappy placements. When Masters came out I played a few more and got promoted.

Been in Masters since, but I play pretty casually in between my other games. Would be so much better if I put more time and effort in

I only played FPM in SC:BW so I came into SC2 not knowing much about how to play a proper low money game. I actually learned how to macro well in FPM though so that was enough to carry me into Diamond/Masters from the start.

When I first played I was placed in bronze after losing all my placement matches, very sad times for me. 1 day later I was in silver, then gold the same day, platinum the day after. I was consistently high platinum, but just couldn't break into diamond back in season 1. I then stopped playing for the last couple weeks of season 1.

Didn't play any season 2 until right before the ladder was locked, and in the time I had not played, I had watched A LOT of starcraft, I got back in the swing of things and the ladder was locked, i was determined to get into diamond next season. By the end of season 2 I was always playing against diamond/master players and I even played against a GM player. I was ECSTATIC that I was playing such good players THEN

Season 3, instantly in diamond (YYYYEEEEEEEAAAAA), currently I have stayed in top 10 for most of the season, and hoping to get promoted soon. when I do happy days!

Once upon a time I started playing starcraft 2 and got masters in 3 weeks with zerg. 2 weeks with Terran and got masters. Then I got bored and stopped playing.

My promotion story was when i was playing 2v2 with my friend at his house and we were drinking, being in Bronze league it didn't matter much being drunk or sober. We won 5-6 games in a row and then started losing...causing us to drink more. So we finally won again using the simple tactic of 4gate + 3rax and got promoted to Silver. My friend got so excited he slammed his drink, my drink..and ended up throwing up.

Started playing starcraft 2 when retail was released. I hadn't really played RTS before that more than a few games of brood war, but I'd watched a shit ton of commentaries (good old nub days watching HD and husky 8D) so I wasn't totally terribad. Anyway, I got placed in silver after my placement matches and within a week I had been promoted to gold. My promotion to diamond happened about 2 weeks later after playing about 50-60 more games and I can't tell you how happy I was to be placed at the "highest" league possible at the time :D! When Masters League was released I convinced myself I'd get promoted on the first week, and after about 100 games I went into a crazy losing streak of about 7-8 games vs masters league players. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off (even called up someone just to complain). However, after winning 1 game vs a diamond leaguer I got inexplicably placed into masters 8). Of course I was pretty low matchmaking for masters league player but after playing enough games I pulled myself up and now I'm doing fine

I started playing a couple of weeks into season 1, played 1 game ZvT and went for a baneling bust, the guy rage quits and i feel so bad that i stopped playing for like 4-5 months, then when i started up again i only played team games. Near the end of season 1 i start plasying a little 1v1 and got put in silver (yay!)

Season 2, i get put straight into Gold and thats where i've been ever since, playing Gold/Plat players but still not playing that much.

Team games however........ I got promoted to Plat 2v2, Plat 3v3 and Diamond 4v4 all on the same day. Plus i was a part of 3 masters teams which doesnt really count asa it was straight out of placement games.

Also, a friend was doing a placement while i was over his house, we were both drinking but part way through the game he has to go get changed or something to go out so i take over. "Right, im terran..... whats the hotkey for marines?" :D i play Zerg. Anyway that was the only placement game that he won and he got placed in Bronze and is still there while is gf just got promoted to silver!

Bronze-Silver: Had some mechanics from Strategy games before but didnt know any build orders, or really how to macro. Took me 1 week to know what warpgate was though and use it lol

Silver- Gold - Platinum: Started watching alot of progames, learned how to 4-gate, which was my basic build, I rarely got to more than 2 bases and most games were 1 base games. I still lost quite badly to stuff like cloaked banshees, DTS and 6-pool. Panic all the way.

Platinum - Diamond: Learned more builds including 2 base stargate play, 3-gate expand properly, 1 gate expand properly and basicly knew how to deal with most allins. At this point I also know some of the time what my opponent is doing and what build he is going to do.

played beta, instantly got in to diamond. removed copper league and added masters league. instant promotion. added grand master league. forever masters

I was so happy when I got promoted to Diamond from plat, cause I'd been in plat for so long, then I fell down to like #30 in my Diamond league, played a game and got dissconected, and also demoted.

So now I'm back to platinum.
