But after that just break the underwhelming performance and go 10-0 the next day, and keeping up the pace. Gogo vent slacker

"If you play this game you will be evaluated. We won't tell you how good you're doing until it's too late. If you lose you may be demoted to a lower league. You may not be worth of the league you're in anymore. And everyone will be able to see it. If you win, you may be promoted. Or not. We like to keep you in the dark, but we still keep evaluating you in every game you play." Never have i heard anyone complain about fear of playing a game like i hear in starcraft 2. Never have i heard anyone complain on any FPS or simulator of any kind. They just don't use agressive and somewhat obscure evaluating the players mechanisms as employed in SC2.

I get the most nervous when I'm on an epic winstreak and I don't want it to end, which makes me play less, which makes me worse so the streak ends and thigns are back to normal lol. You wrote exactly what I experience aswell. I do play my best this way but get more nervous as I play to improve myself starting to face people that are far too good for me to face right now. If I'm on a losing streak I can spam find match 100 times in a row since im determined to regain what I lost however this doesn't usually turn out the way I want it to go as I lose focus ^^.

I second(third) this. I only feel some kind of pressure when I'm on a streak and don't want to break it. Even more so, if I'm on a streak I get too confident and start doing builds I'm not comfortable with and in general trying out slightly retarded things. Which of course ends up ruining said streak.

I was like this also before but you have to realise, top players would never be where they are without encountering TONS of loss and TONS of cheezing. I saw White-Ra's stream a few days ago, and he got cheezed alot in Grandmaster league. But he GG and takes next game.

I guess a part of all of us just want easy wins sometimes, but that never makes us better. And if we want to improve we've gotta go through the losses and correct our mistakes. I suppose another thing for me was when I got promoted to Platinum I found the matches to become increasingly difficult and losing more and more. It's just frustrating, especially coming from a series of losses (in pretty decent games I might add) and getting 6-pooled the next game... but that's just me ![]() Play Aiur Chef to calm down lol :D

A) I win. Better end on a high note and not ruin the feeling with a loss. B) I lose. Better not turn this into a streak. I'll come back when I'm clear. So yeah. Nerves after the first game, for differing reasons depending on the result

I mean when i'm playing ladder it's exactly like i'm training because i know those ppl are around my level (maybe worse) so i don't feel any pressure at all really. But when i play with friend or occasionnally some way better player than me i get nervous even though it's a custom game... If you don't want to feel nervous, then like everybody said, just play a lot of games (like 500) and you will feel less and less nervous. Simple as that.

But contributing to this topic.... *sigh* I ladder in lengthy bursts and then just stop to play customs with friends again. I do not usually feel nervous during these laddering periods.

At the start of S2 I won my first game, then I proceeded to lose the next 4 on tilt, I had no ciggies and I was stressed as all shit. So in a fit of rage I switched to Protoss and 4 gated to victory in my next 5 games, lost one and decided to take a chill pill till I got more ciggies. I cannot play Zerg without anything to smoke, it stresses me out more than anything on this planet, it was the same leading raids in WoW. I've still barely played this season, I think I've won 12, lost 6, I just don't have the impetus right now.
