IMO ties aren't necessary. Business casual or pseudocasual/"smart casual" are just fine. The trick is you have to look nice. T-shirt and a blazer isn't halfway between casual and business, it's halfway between tacky and gross!
Collared shirt and even a sportcoat would be awesome IMO. They can scale the formality up a bit if they want, there's nothing wrong with ties(and after all, dress to impress...) but I don't think they have to.

I can't even watch it. Justin.tv is really bad, it is always laggy and considering that I have a 100mbit connection in Sweden I would assume a lot of people in Europe suffer from the same issue.

I agree. It's almost like they didn't have time to get dressed, so they just grabbed a blazer as they were leaving and through it on. I think it shows laziness and lack of professionalism. I would rather just see them wearing a NASL t-shirt, or like a team shirt. If they want it to professional then just wear an actual suit, none of this half and half stuff.
I think just wearing a a blazer and nice button up collard shirt would be fine. Then it would feel a little more professional and would be a better representation of how serious the NASL is.

i think the production was really lacking compared to GSL and TSL for example, the NASL people just need to watch both those shows and take notes. i would never pay for what was shown on day 1. dont get me wrong i really hope NASL get their act together becuase i want to see e-sport become big everywhere!

It's a relatively small deal, but the attire is somewhat odd : /
It's their show, and they can do whatever they want, and I get that it is a throw-back / homage to Tastosis, but it actually just looks bad, lol.
+ Show Spoiler +I was always under the impression that the reason Tastosis wore those shirts was to support their shirt selling business. I could easily be mistaken.
I'm detecting somewhat of a trend in the casting community. There appears to be an increase in the attempt to copy the Tastosis "feel." Tastosis generated that feeling that we all like naturally. Their personalities blend and interact in such a way that we are now familiar with and is branded pretty well.
It feels rather odd, and semi-uncomfortable when you hear such obvious imitations. I know it sounds cheesy, but I would much, MUCH rather some of these up and coming personalities just be themselves. They will end up contributing more to the community by creating variety and original concepts.

regarding Gretorp:
A lot of people complain about 1 of 2 things. They either find his voice too flat and uninteresting or they find that when there is excitement in his timbre it seems so out of place. I think they are both more or less caused by they same thing: He sounds like he wants to do everything right and as a result, becomes a bit less interesting to listen to. I think letting the subject matter drift a bit during lulls in the games is probably for the better. It's more entertaining to hear about something silly (for example Guinea Pig facts or panda bear guy) when nothing is happening in-game than it is to hear about how nothing is happening. I just got the impression that Geoff is ready and willing to joke a bit (and he did), while Andre seems a bit apprehensive about it.

1. If this broadcast is going to reach more people, it needs to be family-oriented for any age -- so keep questionable language and innuendo out. Any questionable language and innuendo will possibly turn potential newcomers away. Think of the Koreans commentators and the broadcast of the GSL or the broadcasts of the MSL or OSL, etc (SC1 BW) -- they are very family-oriented and still entertaining.
2. The 3-d view of the maps to be played didn't work out too well, even for people familiar with the maps. Don't rotate the maps or at least have a secondary, fixed-orientation map that shows the location of the 3-d map under review.
3. The overall presentation of the broadcast desk area could be improved? Try to have lighting that minimize the creation of shadows of the casters. The back wall seems disjointed with the couple vertical breaks. Also, I think the camera could zoom in a bit closer to the casters...they seems far and small away sometimes.
4. The casters I have no doubt will improve naturally with more games casted. But some tips is not to break off contact with the camera too long to view the monitor when the camera is actively on you.

It died in a heap today, which was rather a shame.

I just found this out when I went to watch a VOD from yesterday. So currently you either have to watch it live (or the restream live) or pay to get the VODs. Its just not like TSL where I can watch the complete matchs when I want.

This. I don't think Gretorp's a bad caster by any means, but personally I'd much rather see someone else paired up with inControl.

Yeah, I agree that the tie isn't necessary (and I realize that nitpicking the attire is a ridiculously insignificant thing to fix in general). Anything beside the current weird look that isn't found anywhere outside of SC2 casting would be a step in the right direction.

Archflames, can you add to your OP to release the replays of the games for instructional purposes since their entertainment value with the quality of their production can't be matched by randon youtube casters is already covered with the paid subscriptions.
I don't think anyone has a problem with NASL making money to entertain people, but the SC2 community is all about helping one another out and making people who put in the time, become better players. Releasing the replays follows in suit with that ideal.

It's a bit bizarre discussing what colour ties the casters are wearing, when the delivery system isn't really worked out. That's the number one priority.
They seem to be splitting yesterdays games now, but this needs to be done faster. Also, the videos are not really integrated into nasl.tv as far as I can tell, though perhaps ultimately they'll be linked off the schedule.
The way GOMTV has all the newest vods right on the main page, then when you click on them they are separated by match, would be ideal.
Most people do not watch live, especially when it isn't live anyway. I don't understand, given that it's preproduced, why the vods can't be up immediately at least for those paying for it. I don't have time to watch all these games on the stream, but I do want to watch them while they are reasonably fresh.

make it so it actually works for EU

Unless Gretorp vastly improves in a couple of weeks I honestly can't see purchasing a sub. My issues with production and stream are small since those should be easily fixed over time. A lot of them could have easily been found out with a simple showmatch before the big reveal. I just don't see myself enjoying Gretorp 3-4 hours every day for five days a week. Nothing against him personally just not pleasant to me.

Ya, I am totally in agreement. I don't care what they're wearing, as long as the commentary is reasonable, and more importantly that the games are good.
MOST important, however, is that it's actually really hard to find the VODs I want to see.
GomTV has a great set up, as you mentioned. I actually don't find the newest vods on the main page all that useful (and I see NASL has this as well now). Way, WAY more useful imo is the "Schedule" button, which takes you to a list of all the matchups, and clicking on any of the matchups brings you to the match VODs (and the player has buttons for each game within the match). This makes it really intuitive and easy to find a matchup you're interested in and watch all the VODs for it.
In contrast, and my biggest gripe with nasl so far (I mentioned it earlier in another post in this thread), clicking on the "Schedule" on the NASL website brings you to a list of matchups, and then clicking on a matchup does not take you to a vod of the matchup, but actually spoils you with the results of the match instead. I had the Artosis/Sheth match spoiled for me simply by clicking on the match - that sucked.

I have the same problem. but i can watch other justin.tv vods without any problem. (like sheth's).
i don't know what's up with the vods.... it's literally impossible to watch, i need to preload like 30 minutos before...

I like Gretorp, but sometimes he yells too loud at the microfone.

just 2 tiny things:
- stop faking excitement (both of them) - please dont try to be tastosis. just feels as fake as the excitement
even then it wouldnt be nearly as good as the TSL/GSL but for me it would at least get "watchable"
