Also I think they need to have all the players be there live like GSL. No point in inviting koreans if its just gonna lag and we are left with questionable results. If non-US players can't make it over here to play then it's too bad. GSL works the same way. I think that a lot of good things come from having the players there, and having them talk about their opponents and things like that. UFC style, hyping it up. And of course, hearing a crowd roaring does wonders. Maybe this isn't what this tournament was going for though so idk, but imo offline matches is the way to go.

Production tab. Generally more active observing. Sheth already had ultralisks out before there were any clues he had even started hive tech. Also if you're going to hype vibe's apm, show it occasionally!

Definitely need a break in between sets, even if its just 5 minutes or so. The match just ended and BAM next match. Set ends and BAM next set, forget the last game, new game. GSL Payout from start to end of a season - About a Month. NASL Season Duration - April - July. . . Lolwut you want people to stay out here that long for a single tournament? Your being rediculous. The TSL has long waits to hence why its via online. Today seemed like a very low budget form of the TSL but I do however have hgh hopes for what the NASL can become.

Isn't it a bit early to be casting this sort of judgement? It was the first day and I thought the production values were excellent for a first try. I'd even go as far as to say this >>>> previous MLG experience (which has had far more time to get GOOD). Let it run a bit more before casting judgement, I am sure they are a professional enough group to do self review to improve what they are doing. At this stage people should just be giving encouragement and trying to promote the thing.

Also background music in and out of game would really make things more lively.

2. Get rid of Gretorp Not to be mean or overly critical but Gretorp is just not a good caster. Some personality types are just not meant for it. Hes unanimated, monotone, which just makes it worse when he tries to fake excitement and goes way over the top. He's not very funny, and there is no chemistry with him and Incontrol, though I doubt he'd have much chemistry with anyone. Everytime Incontrol tries telling a joke or begins the engagement of some banter, gretorp is completely unresponsive or just moves forward like he doesn't know what to say. I feel Incontrol + anyone else, Day[9], Artosis, Kelly, anyone would just be sooo much better.

P.S.: Screw the "win ratio on maps" because there are too many race-map combos to make it a valid statistic ... and players are playing differently so a statistic over "all Terrans win vs X on this map ..." is stupid.

Also the music could be cool music GSL / OSL / MSL style, not only in introductions but whenever a player wins and stuff. Though I guess they are missing the cool booths :[

A caster/commentator switch up would be nice also maybe Husky and a few other good casters, but I'd prefer Gretorp and Incontrol over a lot, so Im happy for that.

I prefer it over the GSL for the same reasons why I prefer watching my college's football games over the NFL. It's got great potential . And to all those who won't give up 20 bucks because you say it's low quality, keep in mind that the more people who pay and subscribe, the more money goes to supporting the emergence of Starcraft 2 in North America and the quality of the NASL itself. Food for thought.

With that said, I think that there needs to be some change in the commentators. Maybe not replacing one or both, but too many times things were missed (I can give a list of examples if necessary) and more importantly the emotions that were broadcast were often times forced (in my opinion), which left an awkward, almost ingenuine feel. Did anyone else experience this? To be more specific, there seemed to be a huge desire to hype things that instead could have been expressed with more poise and wit. Sometimes Tastosis (for example, not because they are the perfect casting archon, they are very good though) recognize something as not mind-meltingly exciting and instead make a joke or two, or even take the time to point out flaws. Anyway, I look forward to more NASL, I am sure they will get better as they cast more.
