Man, i was so excited to go try out these maps, so i started up SC2 and downloaded the new patch and guess what, the stupid blizzard updater has continuously froze every time after it finishes downloading the patch. I am about to scream.
On a happier thought, i am still very happy that Blizz finally decided to up their map pool. Hope this is the start of a great new era of SC2!!

i guess the new temple is an improvement, and im glad to see steppes gone, but why on earth would they remove shakuras? the only problem with that map was the backdoor pathway tank push in zvt and thats not near as much of a problem as other map imbalances.

honestly they should have just used GSL maps, theyre overall better and my faith in blizzard map making is pretty low

I think Backwatcher and Thyphon Peaks looks pretty ok. However Slag Pits seems awfull. Seems pretty difficult to hold a FE and then there are close posi.

I dont know if these maps are better than shakuras but im pretty surprised this community saw shakuras as a good map. Sure it was one of the only large macro maps and so we should appreciate it for what it is but balanced? Now that we are lousy with large macro maps im glad they had the sense to remove what must have been as statistically tilted as steppes.

Shakuras was such a cheesy map disguised as a macro map. I absolutely despise all maps with rocks, especially back door rocks.

Just finished half a game on Slag pits (got dropped). Rush positions are ridiculously close, closer than steppes I think.

I think i lost 2 games of the hundreds i played on shakuras cause of backdoor.

Pretty excited to see these new maps. Will definitely need to check these out in custom single player for a bit to get a feel for them myself first then I will play on ladder. Kind of disappointed they removed shakuras plateau though since it was a great map.

EDIT: close position slagg..... uh blizz what were you thinking? Terran can get 10 marines to your base in under 5 minutes now if they pull off the BO right.

WTF, why do they remove shakuras, thats actually one of the best maps from the blizzard pool, and then keep delta???
Delta quadrant is easily the worst map behind blistering.
