lol i suggest everyone read the links posted about blizzard's insight. they contradict themselves by giving reasons on why they remove old ones and why they put in the new one. I think people using the words "clueless" or "blizzard having no idea" are dead on.

"want to reduce all-ins" but the natural is extremely wide.
"want to prevent close rush distances" typloon up and down positions -_-

TLO just said in his stream Slag Pits is a good map for Zerg. I'm looking forward if he changes his opinion after the first game he plays as Zerg vs Terran in Close Positions^^

This is a joke, I mean are they serious?! I've never seen a company that made so dumb statements.

"This map we decided to remove for a different reason. There isn't a huge problem with this map, but we felt there aren't enough interesting features of this map."

SORRY, i bought this game to have fair matches, not interesting map features. I thought it was a troll but then i logged in...

all the maps except the blistering sands v2 map largely favor zerg, but you wouldn't know it from reading the snap qq from zergs every time something new comes out

hopefully time on these maps will give birth to new strategies. for now, 2 base all ins! dont forget to bring your scvs my terran brothers!

No kidding, I used to 2 rax FE and wall my natural and have some fun late game TvZ. Now I feel like doing a marine scv all in or 4 raxing every game because zerg can just do a run-by into my natural as soon as i expand or move out.

Horrible maps, blizzard should stop putting their own maps on the ladder and instead add GSL/iccup maps. Its getting fucking boring to ladder when you have to play on these kind of maps.

What's the point of your post? Even if it's true and the maps do favor Zerg, this still makes the maps imbalanced and therefore bad. No matter which race it is, as long as one race is favored over another, it's imbalanced.

I dont get why any zerg players complain about the open naturals, its exactly what zerg needs to defend a natural, choke point favours protoss and terrans no matter what, since zerg units are weaker and need to surround.

the sizes of the maps reminds me of BW i dont get why people complain,

hmm maps have been out less than 24 hours, is it necessary to pounce on the imba train already? why not play a while, familiarize yourself with the maps before making rash judgements? my point is that with the current metagame zerg is favored on these maps, but good players will adapt and come up with innovative builds to suit maps, and i'm looking forward to that. i guess your point is to jump on the imba wagon as soon as possible.

Sometimes I really wonder why I bother playing anymore. Shakuras was one of the few maps that I enjoyed playing on and now it's gone. Definitely think I'm going to thumb down the new desert map (Backwater?), the natural looks way too annoying to take.

The point was that others were complaining that these maps are very bad for zerg.

Oh well its the usual knee-jerk QQ here.
Anything else would have been very strange anyway.

But I have to admit, the new LT looks EXTREMELY zerg favored now. I dont like using hyperboles like "free-win", but this might come close. But I think we should wait at least a week before making final judgements.

Did Blizz make any statement if they implement GSL maps anytime soon?

Imo, making new maps, no matter how good they might be, makes no sense when the biggest tournaments use different maps. This seems to be very bad for the community and better players wont ladder anymore because it doesnt male sense to practice on different maps that arent used in tournaments.

The removal of Shakuras and their reasoning for it blows my fucking mind.

It was great to play and great to watch.

Most of the best games in GSL were played on it, as were most of the best games I've played on ladder.

Do Blizzard not understand that the quality of a map is not defined by how many "interesting features" (lol?) it has but rather how it plays out? And Shakuras played out better than any of the other maps in the ladder pool.

Maybe if Blizzard had just added an island with a gold expo, some destructible rocks and a couple of Xel Naga towers, it could have remained the best map in the ladder pool, while also satisfying Blizzard's ridiculous "interesting features" criteria.
