I just read in the patch notes "for the highest players" but it didnt give any details. At BlizzCon, the figures were Top 1-2% of each server.
The Master League will include the top 5% of Diamond players and set them in their own league. The Grandmaster League will include only the top 200 players worldwide, and the members of that league will be visible to all players. These changes, along with a ladder reset for season 2, are expected to land late December/early January.

Some of those minor changes in the big wall of text are actually extremely important
stuff like fixing units being able to push other units when they're not supposed to be able to (i.e. zerglings pushing zealots out of the way when they're blocking a choke)
I wonder what this means:
Autocast repair will now charge the player requesting autocast functionality.

i dont want to degrade this into balance stupidity but, stim is getting nerfed? if so how? (reserving my own judgment on the issue) is this an opinion or something you know for sure?
just to clarify, zergs now have to go like 6 ovie, 6 pool?
Nothing has happened to stim or 6 pooling. That guy was saying he thinks something SHOULD happen to them. And he's a nimrod. Hey retarded. Don't call me names when I'm significantly more experienced at this game and smarter than you. Maybe try to take the ideas in context before you dismiss them outright. Stim nerf refers to all levels. It's broken. Movement speed either needs to be reduced, or marauders need a slower attack rate or both. The kitability of mm at the highest level is simply broken and has no counter in the early game. It dominates everything. Zerg 6 pooling was an example which is normally unlikely, but I know very few of you have played high level team games, mainly 2v2, because you would know that 8 pool in conjunction with marines or hellions from your partner is nearly an unstoppable build for Zerg and Protoss to deal with, which is why it will be nerfed, just like Terran Rax was nerfed. The change has almost no impact to legit 1v1 games, and only nerfs cheese, while making macro games more viable, at least in PvZ. So again, if you guys want to be jugdemental assholes because you have a different opinion, just shut the hell up. Thanks. User was warned for this post
8 pool in conjunction with early marines, I can see how you might think that is hard. Actually, 10 pool speed is stronger in that case. And you can defend easily on most maps unless you are playing as a PP team, in which case it can be difficult to come out without being disadvantaged. Helions though, I dunno wtf you are even talking about. Terran opening helions with an 8 pool is just outright not good unless you are going to resource pool for an early mid game attack. Had top 5 NA 2v2 random rating for a while btw, and was #1 for a couple weeks until early december when I went inactive in ladder for a while.
edit - anyways, hope I get high enough for master league before it comes out :O

So rank 100 will have the default icon, but rank 1 will have extra sparkliness and pretties? Maybe the BlizzCon ones are for those at the top of the division, and the ones we see are the defaults. ^ I think this is the reason for the 'lacklustre' icon. You can even see that the blizzcon icon is pretty clearly just a spiffed up version of the one we have now.

the top 200 players worldwide
Soo only 200 players of like 1,7 million total will be in the GM league? Allright, that's a bit harder to get into.

Something tells me that the icon is just placeholder... they'll most likely replace it with something prettier in the new future (like they did with some of the upgrade icons that were newer and looked crappy initially)

But then how do you explain the rank of the guy who had this star icon? He was rank 7, so does it mean that the top 5 within each master league will be the only ones to have that awesome icon? seems unlikely and unfair.

Yes, this is exactly right. That's got to be the lowest level of the icon.

I mean, after all the QQ I've seen around here for the last few months about the rankings in SC2 not reflecting skill, people sure as hell better not start complaining that the top ranks are too hard to get to.

I THINK that this means during team games, when control is shared between teammates, if a person control's a teammate's scvs and autocast repairs them, HE will be charged for the repair instead of the person who owns the scvs.

in team games you can give control to allies, and now if an ally commands an scv to be on autorepair it will charge the person that actually gave the command and not the person that owns the scv. i think

Has anyone tried the new Pheonix timing? There's a lot of talk about icons, which is great, but I would love to see how much pain can Protoss deliver with the new 'faster' 4x Pheonix build.

There was no mentionings of grandmaster, yet it was announced they'd be released simultaneously, valid question if you ask me. But hey, continue being a bitter forum troll by all means.
