What I did was mapped control group 7-0 to F1-F4. Then I made F5-F8 add to the corresponding group. So if I hit F5, it will add to the F1 group, F6 adds to F2.. etc. I'm not sure if I'll get the hang of it and it will be productive or not, but it is a heck of a lot easier to hit those F keys for me than trying to reach 7 and beyond. If this doesn't work I might also try just moving 7-0 to F1-F4 but keeping the shift/control group addition functions, but going to try this. So far it has worked ok, very easy to add to groups with just hitting one button instead of Shift + #. Still figuring out if I want to put hatches or queens on the F keys, or units. I have small hands and a big keyboard so...

Well, you could change modifiers in the registry for windows, but that'd make button X be ctrl for all applications. It's also a bit messy and requires you to do it yourself which probably is a bad idea if you're not used to tinkering with reg files. As for changing the modifier ingame I don't think thats possible.

SharpKeys lets you do this registry hacking through a program if you end up going down that route. (And yeah. Right now it isn't possible to change the keys for UI-centric actions like selecting all units and such).

I use shift generally to add to control groups, much easier. Only use control to overwrite which I don't need to do very often (if at all).

Im a huge nub.. I know.. But I always would miss H and P and I'd get annoyed whenever I'd just not hold position banelings or lings and they'd all run in to their inevitable death.

Highly recommended. | ||

Its really easy to hit (center mou button + F1) than (Ctrl + F1). Maybe you could try the same ![]()
